bought to test out on a few boats. I could see mounting on an aluminum rail of a pontoon, in a oar lock for a small skiff, or my real purpose to drill some holes on the "balance barge" and be able to move it around to hold a rod. It works. It obviously will also work on the sandy beach/grass bank, but haven't got around to trying their The only bad thing about it, its heavy. So, if it hits the water its sinking like an anchor. Its designed for the bank, so I can't hold that against it. (but I had to do a quick grab already ;) )

It's a decent rod holder for small fish, but I wish it was a bit wider to accommodate slightly wider rod handles. It's a good product tho, does exactly what you expect it to do - really its a simple rod holder you put into the ground so you dont have to hold rods and can be on your phone instead when you are fishing .... what else do you expect out of it?

This thing is built to last and has done its job. Would recommend.. infact um buying 2 more for my boat as they stick inside the holders nicely as well

Nice rod holder and extremely well made. Heavy coat of red paint. Hope I just remember to always pull the rod holder out of the ground before I leave.....

This does exactly what it’s intended to do. It’s thick steel so it won’t bend and stays firm in the ground when you push it in or prop it between rocks. It has a thick paint coat so it should last a long time. As for some of the other reviews where they are saying a rod doesn’t fit in...I’m not too sure what type of rods they are using because any general lake/river fishing rod should fit in no problem. Ours fit inside with a bit of wiggle room. Would purchase again and worth every penny for the price.
