This is a great addition to your bird's cage if your room temperature is a bit colder than they like it. Most domesticated birds like their air temperatures a bit warmer, and so if you need to give them a warm place, this can be very helpful.Just make sure you don't put it inside the cage, as metal bars will get hot, and that could be worse than the cold, or the added heat.

This bird cage heater should be placed outside the cage as the metal gets too hot for birds to be close to it. I installed this on the wall beside my birds cage and she definitely enjoys sitting on the perch right near it to keep warm. I like that it includes a chew proof cord but really we shouldn't be adding things inside a birds cage as it can be dangerous. It works perfectly just outside the cage and I haven't had any issue with it since. Overall if your bird is in a colder spot then I would recommend it as additional heating near the cage but not directly inside it.
