Love the Cannon rod holders. this one was missing one of the screws that keep it in place on the rail. Now I need to find one.

We fish trout on the Finger Lakes of NY State. The rod holders mount easily on the Cannon rail system and work fine. Our issue is with the split roll pin used to retain the ratchet release arm to the holder body. Only the very tips of the pin is on both ends is imbedded into the thin aluminum body wall. Roll pin are normally used when the hole being driven into allows more engagement with the pins length. This is a weak design and like ours, does not stand up to normal use. The pins work out and the spring and ratchet fall into the lake. I will repair the other unit we have with a proper diameter s/s bolt and locknut combination. I will contact Cannon to see if a spring and ratchet part can be purchased. If not, I will probably purchase another new unit and rework it as above, because aside from the weak roll pin design, the holders work pretty good.j

I received two today. I was disappointed to see that the"adjustable" model isn't really adjustable. Reading the description it eludes you can rotate the holder 90 degrees. I want to do this so I can turn my holders parallel with the boat when not in use. The ones I received are stationary and don't appear to rotate at all. I would have paid more for the fully adjustable model had I known. Debating on if I should return

very well built and easy to use, Its nice being able to stand them straight up when you need to, an 18 inch track is long enough for 3 holders.

i got these to replace the plastis ones i have been useing for my lite bite slide divers(dipsy,s) the ratchet up feature is alittle stiff. but they still work great for diver rods. just ratchet them up and lift the rod out of the holder. never lean out over the side of the boat to pull your rod out of the holder.now that i have used these for a season and just ordered 2 more of these from amazon. i thought i might get back on here and let you know how they worked out on the water. these were awesome rod holders for anything you might want to use them for. but for using them with the lite bite slide divers(dipsy style diver) i dont think you can find a better rod holder system. with the adjustments on the rod holders themselves and then the tracks you can make any adjustments needed. they are strong enough that they dont twist or bend while trolling with large divers. and the best thing is when you need to remove the rod from the holder, you just grab the rod and lift. the holder will ratched to the upright position, and then just lift the rod up out of the holder. then when you want to put the holder back down you just grip the handle with one hand and place the holder where you want it. one other thing i couldnt find these anywhere for the low price i got at amazon. now go catch some fish.
