I just replaced my Traxstech holders that I have had for many years with these Cannon holders. The Traxstech were great holders and served me well over the years. However, I always struggled with the amount of effort required to swivel them. I usually needed 2 hands to complete the swivel, lift and turn. I saw the Cannon holder at a local fishing show in January and I liked the fact a simple squeeze of the handle and they can be moved up or down. To bring them back up, you just pull up on them. This works great if you have a fish on. Just grab the rod and pull up and out, no slack introduced into the line. The real selling point for me was the way they swivel. Just push down the lever and turn. The amount of effort to swivel them is significantly less.As for my old holders, I will gest some 6" tracks around the boat and use them for Net holders. As it will not require having to swivel them.

I placed these on the boat with the rail tracks (purchased separately). I use the tracks so that they are easily removed/moved. They are made of thick and durable aluminum, are very simply to use and are 100% functional with 360 degrees of rotation and 90 degrees of tilt. Nothing to complain about here unless price is an issue, but the value is clear

These things rock, a little pricey but they are worth every penny.

By far the best rod holders I’ve used. I have 4 that I use now on 2 12” plates.

Just installed today. Hoping to try them tomorrow. I used some 1/4" aluminum backing and 1/4 X 20 stainless hardware to make sure they did not come loose. They seem super sturdy, and i love that i can adjust them any way i want. To remove these from Cannons track you need a Phillips head screwdriver. No biggie. No complaints from me.After trying them they do what they say. My rods stay in them well and I have not seen them budge. Going to by a few more to finish things off and make it easier for the guy up front "me," to get in on the action without having to race to the back of the boat.

These adjustable rod holders are great. They have a great range of movement so that you are able to set almost any position you require to hold your rod. They look to be very durable and very solid

I have a Cannon down rigger and the stock plastic holders are not able to be kept in the proper orientation very easily and they are not for adjustment; the process is time consuming and requires two wrenches.I added these rod holders to allow use of dipsy divers and a side planer on the side opposite to my single downrigger. They work great as long as you can mount them to a spot strong enough to hold. As another reviewer said they also store rods upright easily. When traveling, they store in a down position parallel to the deck, so they fit under the boat cover. All good. These rod holders are fantastic for adding two rods to you salmon smashing arsenal. The two axis control is worth it over single and I am very, very pleased with them. They connect well to the mounting track also sold by Cannon. I used an aluminum backing plate with 1/4 x 20 x 1.5" ss bolts to secure to a metal portion of the track to the deck, instead of wood screws supplied, and the rod holders are rock solid in their placement. Excellent purchase and the price is right, even with Prime shipping.

Very nice and very well made. The rotation is very easy to move and useful when moving the boat between fishing holes. The ratchet up feature is very stiff, but it is a solid connection at each slot. The rod holder cannot be removed from the cannon mounting track without removing the track end (requiring a Phillips screwdriver). This was not clear to me on any website or at the Cannon home page. I did notice that at the end of my first day fishing the set screws used to tighten down the rod holder to the base were loose. Hope this is not an issue long term that I have to fix with loctite. One more thing, the base does have recessed holes for mounting without the cannon mounting track. Could save some money, but you would give up being able to move/remove.
