About this item

  • SHOCKDROP TECHNOLOGY. This cushion hitch ball has an integrated cushion isolator that dynamically reacts to bumps, vibrations and uneven roads, giving you more comfort, control and confidence while towing
  • INCREASED COMFORT. The RockerBall trailer ball absorbs jerking, jarring, rattling and noise at the coupling point, unlike a traditional metal-on-metal trailer connection, providing a more comfortable ride for driver and passengers
  • ENHANCED CONTROL. The unique cushion hitch isolator in the tow ball offers enhanced driver control, especially in events of sudden braking, limiting the effects of trailer chucking and jerking
  • MAINTENANCE-FREE. The RockerBall anti-rattle hitch ball is virtually maintenance-free. It has no airbag or bearings to service. A grease zerk fitting allows for easy, continuous lubrication for long-lasting use
  • EASY TO INSTALL. This shock-absorbing hitch ball fits onto a standard ball mount. The anti-swivel base fits over a 2-1/2-inch ball tongue, and the shank drops into a 1-inch diameter ball hole

The CURT RockerBall trailer ball is a cushion hitch ball that dynamically absorbs jerking and jarring from your trailer at the coupling point. Just bolt it onto your existing trailer hitch ball mount to enjoy increased comfort, enhanced control and extended longevity of your vehicle's systems. The RockerBall tow ball is engineered with ShockDrop technology: a cushion isolator that reduces noise, vibrations and chucking at the coupling point. This produces quieter towing, increased driver control over the trailer and reduced strain on the vehicle's brakes, towing system and suspension, compared to a conventional metal-on-metal towing connection. The RockerBall fits onto a variety of standard ball mounts -- virtually any ball mount with a 2-1/2-inch wide trailer ball tongue and 1-inch diameter ball hole. RockerBall is also virtually maintenance-free. Unlike other cushion hitch and torsion hitch options, it has no airbags or bearings to service. Just apply grease to the zerk fitting as needed for continuous lubrication and smooth towing. The RockerBall trailer ball is constructed from forged steel for exceptional strength, and it comes with a powder coat finish and chrome plating for dependable corrosion resistance.

I always used a standard two inch receiver with a two inch drop. I have a 6x10 enclosed trailer I haul with my SUV. Constant jarring and jerking even with a well adjusted coupler. Well, that is now history. I can say 80% of the discomfort is gone thanks to the rocker ball. Smooth and quiet hauling with a lot less stress on the entire vehicle. I highly recommend it. Make sure you get a grease gun if you don’t have one. The rocker ball requires initial greasing as it doesn’t come pre greased from the factory. The 3” drop set replaces a standard 2” drop as seen in the photo.

Took a chance because I don't tow heavy loads. I tow a 5x8 single tongue trailer with about 1000lbs of supplies and recently towed my 300lb superjet on a single E-Z Loader trailer. I noticed no more bucking or clacking, it really cushioned the ride. a little pricey, but worth every penny with the bad roads we have here. Happy customer and would recommend.

Be aware that this is not a zero-maintenance hitch. You will need to be comfortable lubricating and torquing it on occasion (or taking it somewhere to have that done), otherwise it won’t be as effective at reducing the jolting and noise and safety could be compromised. That said, I used this to haul a packed 12ft U-Haul trailer from the east coast to the west coast (around 5,500km). It was honestly the smoothest and quietest towing experience I’ve ever had. Even with the terrible U-Haul trailer, this hitch was very good at mitigating the jolting felt when the going over bumps or holes and it silenced most of the usual noise. I did also buy a rubber pad to make it very tight against the receiver. That likely helped as well. In any case, I highly recommend.

Happy with this. Seems to help the ride for my horses on the 2 horse trailer.

Replaced my variable height hitch with the RockerBall. My old hitch had two pins - one to hold the shank in the receiver and one to hold the ball at the right height. There was about an 1/8" play at each pin, so the whole hitch moved quite a bit. The RockerBall is solid and does not move around. The 'clunks' and jarring motion are gone. I still feel some bumps, but they are more like wiggles now. No more 'white knuckle' driving.

Obviously the price is up there relative to other basic tow hitches, but man is it worth it.If you ever have to tow small trailers with no brakes, or trailers that use surge brakes, this thing does an incredible job at mitigation of the "hurky jerky" experience they are. Never dread going over bumps/dips again with this setup. If you've got a large trailer with actual electric brakes, this thing probably won't be super needed, as the hurky/jerky there could/should be fixed with the trailer brake bias. However towing:Jetskis? Fantastic.. Snowmobiles? Kills it.. UHaul trailers? Say no more.. Towing rental tools? Best thing around.I'm a convert and preach the value of this thing to literally any of my friends that tow stuff.
