This is heavy duty ball I put on my class IV forged ball mount. I personally would rather have too much capacity than too little.

I prefer the non-chromed balls but it's a good affordable option over the $42 balls at the local auto supply. I only haul small single axle trailers with a 2" ball so not overly concerned with its ultimate strength. Just like any other 1"1/4 you will need large wrenches, possibly a cheater bar for more leverage...and a tip..change the ball when the stinger is in the reciever of your truck and pinned. Better than a vise in some ways.
