Worked excellent, a little more complicated but still easily enough to install. God Bless!

Great replacement and easy install.Highly recommend replacing lower intermediate shaft at same time but only use original GM part no: 84321748 (pictured) as I had a new aftermarket one fail after insta causing dangerous steering conditions (locking up). The upper intermediate shaft seize and get worn so good to replace and restore smooth driving.

This Doorman intermediate shaft is way higher quality that stock. I highly recommend the upgrade. Install was very easy, 40min total and that includes removing the old one. Fixed the clunk in the steering. Very happy with the results.

I was gifted a 2007 Silverado Classic in Feb 2023, but I didn't know there were 2 models of Silverado 1500 in 2007, the CLASSIC was more or less a 2006 leftover. This shaft was supposed to be for a 2007-2013 and I bought it by mistake. The shaft for the classic is about $30 more expensive. However, after comparing pics of the different part numbers, I could not see why the one I purchased wouldn't fit as there was only one minor difference(extra "set-screw" at base of yoke). Being the newer part didn't have it, it must not have been absolutely necessary. Any way I installed it today along with a new lower column bearing without a hitch, and NO MORE CLUNK CLUNK.

To be honest factory one liked as if had nothing wrong with it, was still tight no play anywhere. Had to be clunking in telescoping part which had no play probably could have sprayed some silicone spray in there but that's 30 bucks now days so this part fixed the problem. Use to sound like my tire was going to fall off at low speeds over small bumps. Also re torque your rear leaf springs.

It's probably great for the intended application but it does not work on a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LT RWD

I was chasing the low speed steering clunk and at the same time a leaking rack and pinion. I replaced the rack and pinion and learned it didn't fix the "clunk". I bought the Dorman intermediate steering shaft on Amazon after price checking NAPA, O'Reilly's and Advanced Auto Parts. I paid less than 1/2 the price of the most expensive vendor. It was easy to remove, after disconnecting it from the steering column (seatbelt the steering wheel to keep it from moving) and removing the bolts on the lower side it pulled up through the bulk head. I will say it was tricky to get the lower end back through the boot and used a long handle screwdriver as a guide from the engine side. Connect the top side first, extend it down and secure it. NO MORE CLUNK and the steering felt tight and new again!!! Smooth!!
