When we zoom out, the Fluval Fishtank stand looks good. The particle board is quite heavy and sturdy, and it has to be to support close to 550 lbs from a 55 gallon tank. But caution! Make sure that the fish tank stand is level completely. Check that the base is level with the floor and check that the tank is level with the top shelf. I found that the top shelf where the tank rests was slightly warped with the center higher than the left and right sides. If you see the photos attached, you will see that there is a gap on both the left and right sides under the tank. Once the tank is filled with water, it will bend. Glass does not like to be bent and a sudden failure might occur. If one is lucky, maybe only a small slow leak with stretching of silicon joints will occur causing a leak. To fix my tank and stand, I had to place shims of thin foam which allows for compression and then I filled the gaps with a thin layer of black silicon. If the tank has to be removed, a box cutter knife can separate the tank from the stand. So just be careful folks. A tank that is 4 feet long is not allowed to bend and must be kept as level as possible. Because the top shelf was slightly warped, and because I had spend more money to make corrections, 3 stars.

This looks like it should have been a solid build but it does not go together easily at all and I doubt it will support the weight of my 55 gallon tank. I would not r4commend this product

Got this Fluval stand for my 55 gallon non-Fluval tank. It is the best. Black matches all my other stands and goes with anything. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Much cheaper than any other stand I could find online

The stand was easy to assemble and only required one person. Seems very sturdy - I have my 29g tank on it and have no concerns. One piece had small chips in the corners but you can’t see them once it was assembled reason for the 4 stars). It does come with handles, the picture was taken before I put them on.
