Worked perfect, I planted 150 pine trees in a day. I tried the shovel thing; I wasn't strong enough to work it, I guess.

Had to put some trellis up that kept falling down in the heavy winds I was recently having. Didn't want to do something permanent like concrete and the ground was so dry that I couldn't make much progress with a shovel. I also had trouble digging behind a bush due to lack of space. This thing solved my problems! Dug a hole deep enough for the trellis post to go in and the dirt I filled back in provides enough support. I only used this to dig 10 holes so I can't comment on longevity but I can't see this breaking down if you use it in dirt. Rocks may give you trouble and dull the blades but it had no issues going through dry hard packed dirt

I had 50 small plants to plant (think 6inch by 3 inch root ball) and this made the process easy and quick. It also cut through roots. It only works for smaller plants.
