Works perfectly as I welded an extra 24” rod so it can auger for posts(fencing) and use for directional drilling horizontally under sidewalk to install drainage pipe under sidewalks & fencing without hand digging/open trench everything.

I absolutely love this thing! It works for much more than digging bulb holes. With established landscaping, the soil is packed. There are often rocks, rotting tree stumps, root systems, etc. I was worried about eye injury, so I wore eye pro the first couple of times. I have not found this necessary beyond my regular glasses. I actually dissected out the root systems/root balls of overgrown pampas grass. It not only made the job less labour intensive, it was fun.

The product arrives as shown. I bought it to help me plant in hard clay soil. This product is not capable of boring into that type of soil.It works great on standard loose garden soil.I still had to use my 1”x12” masonry drill bit with my hammer drill.If this company wanted to improve this product they would beef up the steel & add a carbide tip.Or adding instructional hints & tips is even more effective. I found after a good rain, the bits were easily able to create the desired holes in the once before solid clay soil.So soak the area well if it’s difficult soil prior to using this product to plant bulbs.
