About this item

  • Fits Electric Guitars, Acoustic Guitars, and Bass Guitars
  • Rubberized Swivel Yoke to Properly Cradle Guitar Neck
  • Sleek Black Standoff Provides Clearance for Both Straight and Angled Headstocks

The Gator Frameworks guitar hanger is quick and easy to install and safely supports most stringed instruments including electric, acoustic and bass guitars. The rubberized swivel yoke allows the hanger to properly cradle the instrument, while the sleek Black standoff ensures the guitar sits far enough off the wall for both straight and angled headstocks. Mounting hardware is included as well as a foam wall pad to protect your surface from marring or scratches. Once installed, a decorative plate covers The mounting hardware for a clean and stylish presentation. What truly sets this apart from the rest is the variety of decorative cover plates available. With (5) unique cover plates available, The Frameworks guitar hanger is perfect for any setting. Match your contemporary style at home with the cherry, mahogany, or Maple finish or go for a modern look in the studio with a brushed stainless steel or all Black cover plate. Safe for standard Polyurethane finishes, Not recommended for vintage/lacquer finishes.

Looks great on the wall. Easy to install, holds the guitar in place very well and is sturdy.

Overall, these Gator wall mounts are very good for hanging your instruments on the wall. However, not quite perfect.Firstly, NEVER hang your precious guitars from hooks installed directly onto plasterboard/drywall. It's only a few millimetres thick and simply not strong enough to take the weight no matter what type of wall plugs you use for extra support. So, the screw and plugs that Gator supply in these kits are a total waste and they really should not supply them at all. If your walls are made from plasterboard/drywall material, find the wall studs behind the boards and use a longer, sturdier screw to support the metal plates properly.I am lucky enough to have fairly thick timber walls, so I was able to use the screws supplied to screw the backing plate directly onto the timber. So, no problem there. However, there is a design flaw in regard to the metal Mounting Plate and the Decorative Cover that goes over this. The Mounting Plate with the foam rubber backing stuck onto it is simply not as thick as it should be altogether. This means it does not protrude far enough forward inside the Decorative Cover. So, once the plate is on the wall, if you place the Decorative Cover over the plate and you have the plastic standoff bracket attached as per the installation diagram, the screw thread that forms part of the guitar hanger itself is not long enough to reach the metal plate that it is supposed to screw into!To get around this problem you need some extra packing between the wall and the Mounting Plate before you screw it to the wall. If you happen to have some spare foam rubber about the same thickness as the stuff that Gator supplies, that should be just about the right thickness (i.e. about double the thickness of the Gator foam altogether). In my case, I just used the metal plate as my template and cut two pieces of cardboard from the packaging that the wall mounts came in. I placed that behind the Mounting Plate with the foam on it and that turned out to be just enough to ensure the mounting plate was far enough forward inside of the Decorative Cover to allow the Guitar Hanger to screw into it. Problem solved.Of course, this is a stupid design flaw and detracts from what would otherwise be a close to perfect hanging system. Gator needs to fix this.Aside from that, these wall mounts are pretty good and support fairly heavy electric guitars and basses with no trouble. Of course, if you have any instruments with a nitrocellulose finish, be sure to cover the foam rubber on the support hooks with some type of cotton cover to stop the nitro' reacting with the rubber and wrecking your precious gear (this is not an issue unique to Gator and applies to ALL wall mount systems as far as I can see. I don't trust any of them in this regard).

I wanted to get a wall-mount guitar hanger to hang a small guitalele. Thought this fit the bill as I've had other Gator Frameworks products that have been fine. However, there must have been some serious quality control issues on this one. After mounting the wall plate as instructed, I found that the hanger part (with the threaded bolt end) was nowhere near long enough to reach the wallplate socket to tighten the hanger to the wall. I literally had to shave more than half an inch from the plastic stand-off for it to finally barely "catch" the socket of the wall plate. And even then, I'm not sure how stable it is. It seems to be holding up my light guitar okay, but I am hesitant to mess around further in case the thread loosens and falls out.Could have been unlucky, but I see another review that had the same issue.

Super easy to install.... The way it is made compared to other wall hangers (if screwed in a wall stud using a stud finder) this one is more likely to hold your guitar for a very long time... I would not use the plugs provided...

Looks like a good hanger. It's solid, and easy to install. You have to use the foam backing for it, or use your own shim or nuts/washer as spacers in order for the thread support arm to fit into the backing plate. I like the lack of plastic in this item, since I don't trust a plastic guitar hanger to hold on to the weight of an electric guitar. Also, NEVER install a guitar hanger into drywall. That's a terrible idea, unless you don't mind your guitar ripping out of the wall and hitting the floor. Mount it into a wall stud, or the equivalent. If you don't know whether you should install this into drywall alone, or a wall stud, then you shouldn't attempt to install it, or leave a product review! Also if the plastic tabs on the horizontal arm look "swollen", then angle the arm into the metal plate, and flex it in. This isn't rocket science. It's a good product. If it pulls out of drywall, then it's the installer's fault.

Bought this guitar hanger. Works and looks great. It was easy to install. Put it directly into the stud so I could avoid using the drywall hangers provided. The weight limit on the box says 15 lbs max. My electric is just under that limit.

This product has major design flaws, couldn’t withstand guitar lift up and rests for two days. The nails and it’s main bolt work against each other, result in the worst situations ever. Don’t buy!
