I mounted this rod holder to the wall of my unfinished basement and it was super easy to install. It doesn't matter if your rod is one or two pieces, this holder can handle both! The thick velcro strap keeps the rod secure, so I'm not worried about it falling and getting damaged. It would be great for a boat that doesn't have built-in rod storage. Just be careful where you mount it, as the whole rod is exposed and could get damaged if something presses against it.
