Hello there, and thanks for reading my review! Now, before I begin, I'd just like to take the time to preface my opinions with the qualifier that I am NOT a professional-level builder of model kits. As such, an experienced builder may find their time spent with this kit to be quite different.Alrighty. So, I'll start on my reason for buying these things, since it's something other people have been looking for. I use this to display along with my VF-1S Valkyrie figure, the 1/60th scale Arcadia re-release, for those interested. This is relevant, because some of my issues have to do with using approximate scales.1/72 scale is, obviously, NOT 1/60th scale. Therefore, you'll find certain obstacles to using your figures as I have. The first issue is that the ladder which is meant to affix to the cockpit has no hooks, so it can't simply be placed on your Valkyrie's cockpit without some means of affixing it. A friend recommended (and I have not yet tried) sticky-tack in trace amounts. Might be worth a try.The second issue caused by the scale differential is that the aircraft's munitions sit significantly higher off the ground than a normal fighter's would. However, this could also be a consequence of design. This means that the crew figurine who is meant to be posed as if he's affixing missiles to hardpoints doesn't match up very well, unless you put him on top of the maintenance ladder. It works, but is precarious. As a consequence of me using these in conjunction with a toy, I obviously don't glue them down to anything, so it's important for the figures to be able to stand on their own, for my purposes. Approximately half of them can be positioned and remain standing without any modification, but I haven't tried sanding the feet or anything yet. That assessment may change. Now we're on to the last issue, and then we'll move on to the positives. The last issue is the munitions van. The two sides of the van are rather loathe to stay in position, and none of the hobby vices I presently own were sufficient in size to clamp it. My fault for being ill-prepared, but still, one would like a bit better fitting pieces out of the box. Some of the window pieces also don't have well-defined slots to slide into, and thus, the two triangular windows on the sides have a real tendency to want to come loose. It has some parts gap to it once I finished assembling it, but again, an experienced modeler would likely do better. It is, at least, a good-looking piece from a distance, as I assembled it. On a final final note, the instructions for the fire suppressors tell you to paint the frame of the device silver, as well as the suppressor cannister itself. The photo on Amazon suggests it should be: frame/yellow, cannister/black, and nozzle/silver.Now for the good bits.First, the pilot figures that are molded in the seated position all fit in the cockpit with relatively little effort.Second, all the accessories that are included really liven up the scenario, and make the idea of such a fighter jet existing seem so much more visually likely.Third, there are no repeat figures in this set. Every single one of them is unique. While this may provide a bit of hassle in gluing things together, it's still well worth it in my book. The munitions van, in spite of my earlier complaints, is also a worthy addition. I just bought this set for the figurines, so all the extras thrown in are greatly appreciated, and really add to the value.
