I'm not sure why this lens hood has low reviews. I bought mine to replace my broken Nikon official HB-57 and they're nearly identical. Easy to snap on when in use; easy to take off and flip around when not in use. It's stable on the lens, grips well, and doesn't shake in the wind. The plastic of this hood has a slightly different texture than the brand name one, but it's also half the price of the Nikon-branded equivalent. Great bang for my buck.
