Overheat Protection
- When the water temperature is over 95°F, the heater will stop working, then sound the HH error code alarm and turn the blue light on.

Dry Run Shut-off Protection
- When the heating rod is exposed to air, the heater will stop working, then sound the E1 error code alarm and turn the blue light on.
- Solution: Unplug and place the heating rod fully in water.

When I bought this heater March of last year I was excited and pleased with Mt purchase. Here we are 1 year later. The heater unfortunately shorted out but the wonderful folks over at Hygger respected the warranty even though I was a week outside of its limits. A company that does things like that are worth your business and do not let the short lifespan in this instance dissuade you. I still highly recommend hygger products and their customer support

I got a 300 gal tank outside in a Canadian winter. Needs to be at 80 degrees for my sharks. Wrapped tank with 1/2” pink rigid insulation. The heater keep tank at 80 f with external room temp of -5F

Ive got nothing bad to say about this heater,I have 2 running for 8 months now and just bought another one today.They only thing is the heater itself is a bit big.. takes alot of roomBut i havent had any issues with it yet .Ill keep buying them until i do

I recently switched to these hygger heaters and will not be using anything else moving forward.It maintains temperature extremely well in my 50 gal tank. The digital temperature reading is a huge benefit. I had a cheap heater with an internal thermostat fail on me - the heater failed permanently on without me knowing (apparently this is a common failure mode for those heaters). Tank was up to 98 deg F before I caught it. This digital display would have easily prevented this. Display can conveniently mount with a 3M hook for easy reading.Price is only marginally more (if not the same) than the cheap non-display heaters and well worth it.A definite buy!!!

The flat outer casing on this heater creates a perfectly blended, unobtrusive object in the tank to landscape around. Cleaning around it is easy and safe as well. I feel confident my Turtle can't hurt herself or the heater despite her tenacious rearranging. I tucked it behind a cave hide near one of the water filter inflow nozzles to reheat as the water comes in from the canister. My yellow bellied slider-hybrid doesn't even bother with it, you can hardly see it, and the water has been exactly 80.1 degrees, right where I set it, despite the tank being next to a window AC unit (For context though, set at 74-76, and I do have a deflective piece of plexiglass between the tank and the AC air stream, the AC is mostly to dehumidify my office.) I really like the easy to access (and large readout) thermostat as well. I am VERY pleased with this heater and will keep looking at Hygger products first for my other aquarium essentials.

I have three aquatic turtles that have to be kept in separate ponds. It's almost impossible to find heaters that don't have parts that can be eaten (these goofballs will anything not nailed down). I've previously tried multiple types/brands of submersible heaters before coming across this one and those all broke (leaving dangerous glass shards in the tank to be eaten), got the rubber end pieces bitten off and swallowed or the heaters died after only a few months of use. The temperatures were also not inaccurate. Having to buy everything in threes, meant those other heaters were just a lot of money down the drain.The extra money spent on these heaters was well worth it for design and quality.1. The temperature, even in my 110 gallon ponds, is spot on!2. The design does not have loose or glass/rubber pieces that can be broken/eaten. Yes, I know most people use these heaters for fish. But for those of us with turtles, it is perfect!4. The flat, sleek design is most excellent! For my turtle ponds, the stock tank material does not allow the suction cups to stick to the walls or floors of the ponds. But they lay nice and flat on the bottom of the tank and the turtles don't drag them out into the middle of the ponds and get tangled up in the cords. But I'm sure they would stick really well to glass aquariums.5. They are still working and working well!

DOn't know how long this heater has been available but i recently discovered it and have bought 2 so far. The 500W was for my wifes 75gallon Silver Dollar tank. The 800w now controls my 220 gallon loach tank and is doing a fine job even though its rate for 190g.I've kept tropical fish, Fresh and salt for more than 50 years. My dad got me captivated with the tanks he built himself. I've had Monster fish, discus breeding tanks, cichlids, an Amer Eel and an african frog, Crawfish and thickly planted Amazon tanks. I've had Powder Blue Tangs and Emporer Angels.But through all this time i've used the old school heaters where the dial says 78 degrees but the water gets heated to 82, or even worse the pilot light style heaters.in addition to the 2 already mentioned tanks, we have a high 150, 3 more 75s and a 40. all will be soon warmed by Hygger heaters.SincerelyTed
