Amazon.ca Product Description

Little tool, big results. Johnson's 12" metal combination square gives you the accuracy and precision you need for every job and was designed to be durable for a lifetime of use. Its stainless steel blade has english and metric graduations of 1/8", 1/16" and 1/32" as well as millimeters that are permanently stamped, so you'll never have to worry about them fading or wearing. Similarly, the durable acrylic vial, heavy-duty cast zinc head with a black, chip-resistant e-coating finish, and hardened screw-in scriber that won't fall out helps this combo square withstand even the roughest job site abuse. It was also designed with maximum accuracy in mind - its square head is CNC machined for greater accuracy, and the Auto-Lock blade assembly makes it easier to accurately line up your tool for use.

Cast zinc head with computer-machined gauging edges for greater accuracy. Acrylic yellow barrel vial. Hardened, removable scriber. Steel blade with protective anti-rust coating is permanently stamped in 1/8ths, 1/16ths, 1/32nds and mm.

This device saw continual use in my rehab efforts on investment properties and in rebuilding a very large deck. I am completely pleased with it and would buy it again.

Quality is superior for price. What can I say it’s a simple tool. Happy with purchase

There’s still metal left over from when the level was drilled into the square. Otherwise it’s ok to read, does the job. I wish that the engraved numbers were also painted as just engraving is harder to read.

The square is easy to use and read. I'm glad that it's still possible to buy a well made square!

I had a combo square for the better part of 20 years and it was awesome. Bought this in the spring and the locking device has broken.

The combi square seems well made, accurately set to 90 and 45 degrees. The rule has been cut a tad short of the 0mm mark but I tend to mark from one mid-point to another to avoid errors where the very ends of rules are cut. The level bubble seems dead on when doing the “mark it on a wall and flip it over test”. Also, the thumb screw works well and the scribe is a nice touch.

This is my first product form Johnson Level & Tool, seems well built, the lock is well designed it allows the ruler to slide but not fall out and is rock sold when locked down, the ruler is quite thick so will not bend easily. The markings on the rule are easy to read but unfortunately it had a very sharp bure on all four of the long edges witch I had to remove with a bit of sandpaper, but not before I cut my self on it.The scriber is sharp and unlike others I've seen is usable if you need to, as for accuracy like most combination square at this price point it was not quit 90 degrees, but it did not take to long to adjust it. All in all a good combination square for the price.

Packaging is just a piece of card stock stuck to it, so it's basically thrown loose into your amazon box with whatever else you ordered (in my case a bunch of tools) . So mine came dinged up.That said, it still appears to be accurate, but it just doesn't feel like a precision instrument to me? It is very beefy and heavy, and hard to mange (for me anyway). The ruler is about 2mm thick, and the groove it sits in is almost 1mm larger. If you don't seat the ruler against the back wall of the groove before tightening, you will probably have a bit of wobble and you'll really have to crank that tightening screw to get rid of it. I also have to use 2 hands basically to ensure it is pressed totally flat on all sides and the ruler hasn't tilted or the handle hasn't dropped or pivoted on me.If you're just going to throw it in a toolbox and use it to do framing or something, I think it's a great deal for the price honestly. This thing seems like it can take quite a beating! But I'm looking for something to do finer work, with a bit more finesse. This one is too much of a brute for me.

This was a new tool to me and I love it. Solid build. Had to figure out how it works as it has no instructions but it is handy to have

Same device as the 300EM-S model except the Ruler is stamped with black markings. Initially received a defective unit, but got it exchanged and it works great. Only requires a half turn of the dial to unlock and lock the Ruler. Have tried Stanley, Empire and Irwin squares and they all take multiple turns of the dial to unlock. The Johnson is better designed due to the lower thread count on the dial.

Title says it. Good tool at the price. Works well and the scribe pin is very handy.
