When you receive 2QT of carnivorous plant soil mix from Kapecute, it may seem like very little.

To obtain 2QT of kapecute's carnivorous plant soil mix product, approximately 3.5 ounce of dried and fluffy sphagnum moss debris will be used compressed into the product package.
Individually wrapped, you can define your own usage amount.
Sphagnum moss crumbs compressed flakes are individually wrapped with perlite bags for easier use.
Easily obtain a carnivorous plant soil mix in just two steps.
First Step
The first step is to unpack the outer packaging and remove the compressed sphagnum moss flakes and individually wrapped perlite. Soak the compressed sphagnum moss flakes in water to allow the sphagnum moss crumbs to fully soak and expand, a process that takes about 5 minutes.
Second Step
In the second step, after the sphagnum moss chips have fully absorbed the water and swelled up, put in the perlite, mix them well, squeeze out the excess water, and then you can use them to pot up carnivorous plants.
Excellent drainage and moisturizing properties
As we all know, sphagnum moss has excellent water retention capacity, which can maintain the required water in the soil for a long time. Its moisturizing capacity is unmatched by forest moss, peat moss and coir fiber. Sphagnum moss debris is the state of sphagnum moss after removing its long fibers, and 100% of the sphagnum moss retains its excellent moisturizing ability. In our long-term testing process, we found that sphagnum moss debris is better than sphagnum moss for growing carnivorous plants, with better water-locking ability and more convenient operation. Better sustainability than peat moss.
perlite is used in common potting soils to help improves drainage and aeration in potting mixes, promote strong root development.

I used this for a VFT and a nepenthies. The VFT loves it, and it keeps the nepenthies damp. Be sure to use enough of the perlite. Also, a live ground cover grew in with the mix, I like it. Some peeps won't I'm sure.. worked well for the price.

I have grown many flytraps in the last few years. I like that it’s compress. Take off as much you want. After it swells up the moss is quite good holding moisture. Don’t use big pieces because when you add water it really expands.

Small dry package...just add water and it expands like crazy. Perfect environment to keep my flytrap happy. Mimicking the perfect bog environment, stays damp and has a nice bit of algae moss typebthing going...all I know is my plant loves it lots of new growth and a happy hungry plant that's notoriously hard to keep.

You only need like 1/4 of it to fill a 4in pot! Give it a couple minutes to soak up the water before you add more!

I bought this for the convenience of not needing to purchase the products individually and mix myself. It probably works out to be more expensive but it was worth it for the convenience. I purchased two packets to fill this planter box which is approximately 6 litres. Two packets was the perfect amount, 3 quarts per package is probably accurate, three packets would've been too much for my application. We'll see how the plants go but I'm confident they'll be healthy and nutritious. Highly recommended.
