Purchased this for my PS2 slim that stoped reading discs. Instilation was fairly easy. You will need a soldering iron to remove the protection solder (this is easy and took 1 second). PS2 slim is reading discs good as ever and with the quickness.

This product came in really beat up through its packaging. It didn't work for me at all. I've tested it with a working laser too. Don't waste you time, and buy from another seller. Take care.

Laser arrived fast, installation was pretty easy on a PS2 Slim 75001. Reads the games really fast within a few seconds after starting up the PS2. Really happy with this replacement laser.

I have an older slim ps2 model that would have a disc read error and would only read 2 out of the many games I tried. The games were on a cd and the other a dvd. The dvd one was spotty and so I decided to replace it with a new one. It works great, even better than before. Only have to worry about getting the solder blob off but I did it with only some tweezers and a torch. So as far as installing it, it’s fairly simple. All and all worth the purchase.

Got this installed in my PS2 slim and it works flawlessly. I've watched a lot of videos on these lasers on youTube. When mine came in I looked for the solder blob and was surprised that there were the three spots for a solder blob but no solder at all. I've seen enough videos to know that there should be solder on those 3 traces so I actually put solder on the 3 tracers where the blob should be. Got it all installed and it worked perfectly. I'm starting to think that the reasons the lasers get bad feedback is due more to user error of not installing them correctly than it is due to manufacturing defects.

My PS2 slim was not reading any discs. The super simple fixes didn't work so I figured it was the laser. As soon as I popped this new laser in my PS2 slim came back to life. Perfect! Oh, don't forget to use your solder gun etc to remove the static guard. The laser won't work without doing this. You can find do-it-yourself articles out there on the 'net so you don't miss anything. Overall it was easy and took less than 20 minutes.
