This product exceeded my expectations. Judging from the low price and some of the negative reviews, I was expecting a poorly built, low quality product. I figured that it was worth taking a look at it and if I didn't like the product I would return it. But mine looked great coming out of the box. There were no quality issues and it appears to be fairly sturdy and well designed.I think any problems I will have using this for my soldering project will be more related to my skill level rather than the utility of this product.

When I first opened it up in the box it almost fits in your hand. I thought the black base would have been plastic but it actually feels like cast iron or something. The base is very hard and very heavy, you can tell it isn’t plastic. The arms and joints and connections seem low quality but again for the price what you pay, this will do just fine for enthusiasts. If you want a really good solid set up this won’t work you’ll have to fork out a little more money for something nicer. But again for basic soldering and enthusiast tasks, this will do just fine. Clamps seems strong, I just with the magnifying glass could be placed a little further away from where you would actually be soldering.

It's a little small and really hard to work with. It's cheap and I don't recommend this at all. Spend a little more money and get a proper one.

Great little stand. Arrived fast. In great looking package. In great condition. Good seller.Two important construction details could have been better. A longer arm on magnifying glass with extra knuckle. To give you more room to maneuver your soldering pencil. And another set of knuckles at clamps. To provide better pivot angles allowing proper tension and hold on work pieces. And if I'm going to add anything else. I would recommend holes in base to allow screwing in place or perhaps a self adhesive bottom two way tape type of thing.Now with that being said. This is a great little stand for the money. I would recommend it. Just be aware of it's design limitations. If you require something more robust, or with greater flexibility. You're going to have to spend more on another stand. There is no reason for this tool to have any bad reviews due to quality and design. Go ahead and buy it. It works well.

It’s super well built sturdy comes pre assembled so adjust it to fit your needs and it’s really easy as that the magnifying glass is an awesome touch it does everything I need plus some and it’s all there in a compact easy to use package packed with features that are useful and well thought out for the price point it offers so much value and flexibility that I can’t say enough good things about it such a well thought out product with so many functional features the magnifying glass is clear and makes surface mount soldering so much easier keeping your work elevated also helps dissipate heat preventing pcb warpage and component overheating

The product is much smaller than expected. The pictures, while accurate are a little deceiving, especially for those of us who may have had or used one of these before.It's only around 80mm tall, and width/length of the arm bar is around 120mm. For comparison, in one of my images is a 90mm diameter magnifying glass that came with my old helping hands.Additionally, the butterfly nuts help a little, however there are thumb screws on the other side and used elsewhere. Given the scale, these things are about 7mm across and a little hard to get tight (it's metal on metal so no additional grip). Small set of pliers or shifter helps.It's a little forward heavy even without a job on it, so I'll probably use it backwards for the moment. It will do the job, but next time I'll look for a larger one.

Had this over a year now, still solid and nothing loose or broken it, it's one of the cheaper priced ones but I went with the reviews and I'm satisfied.

Very well designed and built. I purchased this item primarily as a soldering aid, but I can see that it could also have a multitude of other uses where one needs to hold small parts for assembly or repair. The attached magnifying glass is a definite plus, especially when dealing with tiny delicate pieces. I wish I had this tool years ago. I would highly recommend it...very handy indeed.
