OrangePi Zero 2 W 1GBI purchased to use as a server for Octoprint-Deploy. I wanted a SBC that had resources to handle two 3D printers, this tiny board was up to the task. It averages about 50% load while both printers are printing and never uses more than 85% memory. I also needed to purchase a usb hub to connect the printers and usb cameras.I use the OrangePi Debian image (Bookworm).I think it's a great alternative to the Raspberry Pi. Although I haven't used the IO pins it's a nice feature if you want to connect to sensors. If you wanted to use as a desktop or media device there are images for that also although I can't say how competent it would be. It is also available in 1.5, 2 and 4 GB versions.

Wanted to use this for Klipper says it's fully supported could not get UART or android Klipper screen to work on this. Do yourself a favor and just buy a Raspi 0.

If you're buying it for a specific use, cool. It powers on, runs code, and you can install Linux on it.If you're buying it to install Klipper to run your 3D printer, just save yourself the headache and get a raspberry pi.

So far so good, am using this with the Arch Linux-based Orange Pi linux, which runs quite well and it looks like they are keeping it up to date, with the last update in July this year. I used this board to act as both an always-on Google Calendar for the household as well as a zigbee device hub in the background with Zigbee2MQTT, which is why I wanted USB-C as this is what the zigbee usb device uses. The board attached it to the back of a monitor, and it is effectively secured by the cables using stick on cable holders. Not the most elegant solution, but it works due to the incredibly compact design of the board! Have it set to turn off the monitor at 12am and then reboot at 6am, with a startup script that opens Google Calendar in full screen on Chromium which is included. Nice that this device has double the RAM and a 50% faster CPU than the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W. Will definitely consider this and other Orange Pi boards for future projects!
