Your cart is empty.The OTC cylinder leakage tester kit can quickly diagnose internal engine problems such as bad rings, valves and leaking head gaskets. The tester features dual 2-1/2 inch chrome bezel gauges and rugged protective outer boot. The scales read 0-100 pounds per square inch and 0-700 kPa. Complete with pressure regulated manifold with quick couplers, long flex 24 inch 14 millimeters hose, and 10 millimeters, 12 millimeters and 18 millimeters thread adapters. Kit comes complete with adapters for most applications and a blow molded hard case with removable lid.

Hose that comes with it could be more supple, to stiff ,a bit difficult to thread into spark plug hole.The function of the unit is great though.

No issues with functionality... and it comes in a case (a must for me) to protect when not in use. Only issue is it would be better if the mounting frame was thicker for durability and edges not as sharp IMO. A powder coated black would be nice too :)

Very easy to use with the provided chart, you can get the wear or any specific problem in less the 15 minutes with this tool.I personally like this tool more than compression meter test as it can allow more precise root cause of an issue, if any.

Unit appears to be built well. Some say the aluminum cover plate has sharp edges. I agree. However, 3 min with some fine sand paper took care of that. The only thing i question is that I can't seem to find what size the regulating orfice is. Ive done many hundreds of leak down tests on aircraft engines and most call up 40 thou. This is important as orfice size vs cylinder size will determine the degree of relevance, all things equal. For those not familiar with this type of test, it is a great way to determine where the leakage is coming from. However, it can be influenced by things such as simply a piece of dirt under a valve giving a high leakage rate. I would never rate the condition of an engine based on this test alone if it shows past the valves. Carefully rock the crank back and forth under pressure (may try to turn so use a good flex bar) and or take it out for a good run an try it again. If the test shows very low or next to no leakage, valves and rings are probably good. The engine may still have oil burning issues from bad oil rings or valve guide seals even though leakage test is good.

The 10mm adaptor diameter is a little too big to fit in to the spark plug hole recess. I got it machined off .5mm to 9.5mm instead.

Decent price for a great instrument. Great case (with instruction sticker in lid) to store all the parts. Easy to read gauges. Good hose length. Sharp edges on 'manifold' as others have noted is less than ideal. I use this only occasionally so the edges won't be a problem. Have been able to use this to rule out valve issues and confirm leaking rings on a small engine. Will be using this for other projects in conjunction with a compression tester.

Bought it to check low compression on a 4-tec Seadoo . Supplied adapters worked well .Read somewhere the SBChevy adapter wasn't included ,but is built-in at the end of the hose ,so you do get 4 sizes,but only 3 adapters .The case is rugged and compact for storage . The housing around the gauge ,as others have mentioned , is a bent piece of aluminium for display purposes only . Much like a hospital gown ,it's all about the front , but there's nothing in the back. Cosmetics aside , the dual gauge worked well and easy to calibrate with a cheat sheet inside the casing cover for those who hate doing the math . It holds a steady reading ,as long as the air supplied is constant . I would buy it again ,and would recommend it .#1 Cylinder had 44% leakage due to a bent connecting rod (winter project)

Pros-The quality is great. Device works flawlessly. This tool will last you a lifetime. Easy operation for users with easy guide for the novice to assist with determining issues. The gauges are large and easy to read.Comes with a nice storage container to keep it all together..Cons- The only Con worth mentioning is the length of the hose, although "NOT" a deal breaker it would greatly enhance the product further if OTC supplied a LONGER hose.Extremely satisfied with the purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a "Reliable and Accurate" tester that will last you for years.Furthermore OTC manufactures for Mac and Snap On tools.
