All seems good and price is great; it didn’t fit our door.

Well made and fits many old & antique door latches & locks. Not the easiest to find, but this one, looks and works well. It is well made and attractively carded & an extra one is now hanging in my shop.

I went out on a limb with this purchase not knowing for sure if these would actually fit on my old custom pine doors. Well they did work and are great quality. Will buy again if needed.

I love my antique door knobs on all my doors. 2 recently stopped functioning. I took pictures of the piece and sent to numerous "locksmiths " who said they specialized in antique knobs. All of them said I would have to replace the entire doorknob. I didn't believe that for a minute and searched online. These fit and work perfectly, what a good price too and no locksmith needed!!!

Had to return because the offset did not match the center of the existing doorknob hole in my door. Really wish that it was the adjustable kind, or that they had the other standard size.

While this latch bolt appears to be robustly built, note that it does NOT accept even a 1/4 inch, let alone a 9/32 inch square spindle. I'm surprised by the number of favourable responses, so maybe a lot of folks out there have smaller spindles. There's a comment by a guy in the States that he spent a hour grinding his spindle down to fit - not something I have the time, equipment or inclination to do. Suggestion: Make sure your spindle is less than 1/4 inch....

The sketch currently shown as a product photo by Amazon (see my own pic) is accurate for what I received -- a 9/32 spindle is the largest it will accommodate. The product title ("9/32 in. & 5/16 in.") is contradictory and wrong. This worked fine for me, as reviewers had already pointed it out and 9/32 was what I needed. In fact it was a tight 9/32. With a digital caliper, my spindle measured a rather small 9/32. Even at that, the spindle had to be tapped into the socket with a hammer. That was fine, metal was soft. After a few taps in and out, I had a good fit. The latch itself is well designed and well manufactured, works smoothly. Would buy it again.

The product fit perfectly. It was the 2 3/4 inch 70 mm latch that accepts 5/16 or 7.7mm knob.

I had a largish drive bolt and this was the first of three such purchases that actually allowed it to fit!The size capabilities are actually as described!

Got these to replace the mortise latch mechanism for a knob set I ordered from the UK. The accompanying latch had a backset of 2.5” while this one is 2.75”. Exactly what I needed at a great price.
