The manual key blade is not a direct swap, at least for my ‘14 Malibu fob. You have to separate the keyed portion from the “hub” by driving out a tiny roll pin. Swap your key onto the new hub, and drive roll pin back in. Not impossible, but definitely increases the difficulty level, especially for someone that might not have tiny punches.Other than that, everything fits perfectly, and it snaps together and works great. Definitely worth the $9 or so.Old fob was a pain to take apart, it will likely be destroyed. But that blame is on GM, not this part.

This was the 2nd replacement key fob for my 2012 Buick Lacrosse. Original key fob buttons had fallen out. Just normal wear and tear. Was easy transferring the control circuit board and the mechanical key over from the original fob to the new key fob. All functions work as they should. Saved significant cash going this route verses a new key from dealerships. Great price and fast shipment. Thanks!

I did not destroy my old key fob. I put it in an oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit and it came apart nicely. However, The comparability list is not right. It does not fit a 2014 Buick Verano. As the photo displays the supplied key is machined just a bit differently as to force you to get a new one cut for $100.00. I am returning it and will go to a locksmith. (Not the recommended ones on the web site.)

I needed to replace the shell of my 2014 Chevy Sonic key fob is the buttons broke off I ordered this replacement shell it works perfectly yes you do have to replace the uncut key blank that comes with the shell with your cut key from your original remote all you have to do is remove the little roll pin (see picture for it) on both the old one and new one put your cut key in reinstall the roll pin and you are good to go.

Maybe I ordered the wrong part. My existing pre-cut key and mechanism will not fit -- except open all the time (2015 Malibu). Serviceable with a rubber band to hold my pre-cut key down.I am ordering a different part, now that I know the actual Chevy part number on my old key.UPDATE: Same thing on the part I ordered from another vendor. My pre-cut, original key from Chevrolet simply will not fit into the new "shell". Apparently, a customer is expected to take the new shell+plus key blank and get the physical key copied, which I did with the second one I ordered. Cost me $25 at the hardware store to get the key copied. Oh, well ... live and learn. Now it works flawlessly.UPDATE PART DEUX: I had been trying to move the entire pre-cut key including the pushbutton, spring, and gear. Apparently that is the wrong approach. (Would have been nice to have any kind of instructions!) After I went and had a new key cut, I discovered there was a tiny roll pin (spring pin) securing the pre-cut key to the rest of the metal mechanism. Apparently, you're supposed to pull the pins from the old and new, move the pre-cut key, then re-insert the pin. I had to use a small hammer and a tiny nail to create a flange on each side of the roll pin, so that the roll pin wouldn't start sliding out.
