I purchased 6 of them. So easy to water the seeds, and the hole is small enough for the seeds to stay in place while growing roots. Much better than Jar type ( I have jar type too), because for Jar, the way to drain water is more complex, and not enough air flowing inside Jar, making sprouts more easily and quickly to rot. This kit is larger and easier in every way. Each time I made successful sprouts as well. No failure. Seeds flourishing. I love this kit, and not sure why doesn’t receive good reviews. Much better than Jar type. And good quality

These are great for growing quick sprouts and microgreens without messy jars or losing half your tiny alfalfa seeds during watering. The mesh is tight enough that you'll only lose a few. If you use larger seeds, they won't fall through the mesh at all. Having two sprouting trays is nice because you can start them a few days apart and have fresh sprouts frequently without waiting between harvests. They come with 2 trays, but you can buy more and stack them taller if you want to sprout more than 2 types of seeds. The small footprint means I can use these in my tiny apartment kitchen without losing a lot of countertop space. My complaint is that the trays are lightweight (which is fine), but feel a flimsy and don't always line up right so you can end up with a mess if you're not careful when you water the seeds.

It's very basic, and the price reflects that. My issue is that the trays don't fit in to each other properly, so if you want to bathe the seeds, they move to one side, and then the next level only gets wet along one side. Larger seeds might work well, but flax and chia are a no go.

I read a review about the plastic being too thin. It is a little thin/delicate but don't ne rough! Slow down and take your time with washing it and assembling it. Within the first day, after soaking over night, most seeds started to sprout. By Day 4, I had fully sprouted seeds and placed the container near a sunny window so they would turn more green. It worked within a few hours. It has two levels so you can make a good amount of sprouts. I'm impressed at the ease of this container and I tried the jar drain way of doing this ... it failed for me. The sprouts stunk and started to rot. This container allows for superior grown, and minimal effort. The sprouts don't smell strong either. Highly recommend this product.Lastly, I just left the container on my countertop, in a corner, behind some items, in a shady spot. I didn't have to keep them in a "dark spot" and it worked like magic.Bravo!

This was my first time growing sprouts, and it works very well for me. I used Nature Jim's Sprouts Salad Mix, which contains alfalfa, radish, broccoli, and clover seeds. I soaked the seeds for 24 hours before adding them to the sprouting trays. The seeds are tiny, but soaking basically doubles them in size. The soaked seeds did NOT fall through the slots in the sprouting tray. I cover the tray with dish towel the first two or three days, to block the light. When the sprouts start to appear, I set the trays outside for an hour or two each day, and leave them indoors the rest of the day. (The outdoor time seems to green-up the sprouts.) The picture is after 7 days. At that time, I refrigerate the sprouts in a a different container. (See picture with sandwich.) Properly refrigerated and hydrated, the sprouts last about a week - by then I've grown a fresh batch!Something to consider - make sure you are aware of the size. It's not very big. Measurements are provided in the description. From my experience, the sprouts you grow in a week last about a week for two people using the sprouts in salads and on sandwiches. So - it's a good size for us. Second consideration - because of the stacking design, the sprouts in the bottom tray can grow only about 3 inches. As you can see in the picture, that's fine. You could always unstack the trays.Recommended. Ordering a 2nd one.

The trays do not fit evenly onto each other and the to is completely off the rails. I bought this a while ago but didn't use until now. The sprouts grow good! Just need more sturdy plastic that doesn't bend quite so much and morph making the top tray too dry. I was surprised at the size compared to the picture advertised too but turns out its okay as I like the size after all.

This was my first time growing sprouts at home. I bought two different types of seed, broccoli and mixed. I put the mixed seed in the bottom tray and the broccoli seeds in the upper tray. Both grew very easily and I was enjoying eating them in my salad in about seven days. The trays themselves are very sturdy and stack one on the other easily. Adding the water every day to rinse them is just a matter of pouring some over the top and then emptying the lower tray. The holes in the tray are small enough so that the seeds don't fall through. If you want to grow sprouts at home, this tray will make it very easy and fun to do.

Thin and brittle plastic. Cheap product. Not sure how safe it is for food. Arrived with cracks. Disappointing. May also be too small until or unless this is for one person use.

Easy to use and wash, makes good batch of sprouts. I am currently working with mung beans (bigger size) will eventually make variety of sprouts on each plate. Will definitely purchase more to have more sprouting varieties. Since they can stack easily, takes very small counter space. Works wonders!

Bought two sets to grow bean sprouts and they work perfectly. They are perhaps the simplest way to grow sprouts. Not only you can grow your own food, but it makes a very educational activity for the whole family. In the pictures I am growing mung bean sprouts. The holes on the trays are small so the beans won't go through. However because of the height of the trays the sprouts won't grow too long. I had to harvest them before they "explode" lol. Now I am growing mixed sandwich sprouts. The seed however are much smaller than the holes so some of them wash out. That's something to keep in mind.I like that they can be stacked to save space. And a quick tip for growing mung beans: Keep them in a dark place, and cover with dark color towel to block out the light. Any light will cause the bean to turn red.

I saw this recommended by a you tuber so decided to give it a try. I make spouts regularily for my budgies and I’ve been looking for a better way then just mason jar. It’s not perfect but it does what it should.Pros:- Reasonable Price- You can sprout one tray or both or start them a few days apart so you always have fresh sprouts available.- Simple to useCons:- Not the best quality. After just a couple weeks the water tray is already cracked on mine.- The levels aren’t tall enough for larger sprouts like wheatgrass or green peas so they start to push apart if you have them stacked and the lid won’t fit after a couple days.- Some water still sits in the trays so you have to tilt it to fully drain or they seem to get a little moldy/slimy.
