Works just as described! Aside from the fact that the instructions were initially a little confusing, the tool works perfectly and the selection of nozzle sizes makes it very efficient and versatile. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this product!

I haven’t tried any other hot air rework tools, but my impression of this is that you get what you pay for. It works, but it’s cheaply made and the plastic housing gets quite warm to the touch. You get what you pay for. If you have a bigger budget, obviously a higher quality unit would be better. If you’re a basement hack like me and don’t wanna spend too much, this’ll do.

The heat fluctuate on and off which is not good for hot air soldering.

I purchased this for a single project. I had to remove a transistor that is size of a flea. Couldn’t use an iron so after a recommendation, I purchased this heat station. Worked as expected for my delicate project. Very happy. Seems well made and a fraction of the price of other. Very easy to use. This investment saved me over $100 had I needed to have my project done professionally.

This heat gun works well for my heat shrinking needs. It heats up quickly and runs without any hitches so far. They included quite a few different sized nozzles which is nice when I want to concentrate the heat and a few tweezers, and a hand-held wire holder. The included stand for it is quite flimsy and is already starting to show wear after bending it closed and open a few times which is disappointing. It’s a nice kit so I hope it’ll last and not have any fan issues.

I was a first time de-soldering guy and spent HOURS trying to use a solder iron, then a de-solder gun with no luck, apart from damaging my controller board. Then I tried this hot air tool and had my old thumb sticks off the new board within 5 minutes. This is the only way to desolder multiple points at once.

Let's see, I have used this thing to:- replace my car's side marker reflectors- melt solder and remove chips from my Switch's motherboard- remove gooey stud/drywall adhesive from my basement bathroom studs during remodeling- open impossibly tight jar lids- heating up siezed bolts during car maintenanceEASILY hot enough to do anything a heat gun needs to do, and the smaller size gets into small places. I love the digital thermometer/heat read-out. You will need to be aware that it's not a gun format, so you need to hold it differently to gain stabiity if the task you are doing requires precision. I love this thing.

I checked it with a thermometer and it indeed heats at 500°C and get to the température really quickly. Great but a piece of plastic near the exit end melted a bit (but without touching the metal part hopefully)

Surprisingly, this thing isn't too bad. It seems well built, it's light weight, and quiet. I expected the fan to vibrate like an old dump truck, but it doesn't. Heats quickly and is easy to operate. You won't be blowing leaves off your driveway with it, but it's adequate. Used it to change the USB-C connectors on a couple of Nintendo Switch games, and it works great. I hope the heating element lasts a while, as I can't see parts being readily available, but for the price, you can't beat it.

Fan does not work out of the box. Heats but no airflow. Unfortunately I waited too long to test it and cannot return.Would rate zero stars if I could.

So far, I love this little thing ! I personally much prefer this version than the one with the base, as I rarely use it, and it will mostly be stored away.It worked really well with all the small components I tried. It not instant, but it fast enough for my needs.I tried a much larger chip, and I was about to burn my table under the PCB. So it not made for larger components I think (That said, I'm new to this, so there might be a way...).It open a whole world of posibility, and does make some repair work from tedious and ugly result, to something that is fairly easy with good looking result. You need need supply to work with this, but I was able to just pull a resistor and put it back with no issues with only what came with it. But if you want to do a better job, check video on line of professional and you will see what they used.
