Works great . Now I am able to extend my wi-fi signal about 20-30 outside of the house. Easy setup with the APP.

This TP Link wifi extender works perfectly. Took 10 min to set up with their app. 2.4 or 5gb or both. It even has a spot you tap and it checks how good the location is and says perfect location. Love it. I can go anywhere in the back yard now. Glad I got the $63 one and not some cheaper unit. I hope it gives me good reception for a long time. Highly recomment the RE550 ver 1.0!

Based on my first opinion, the extender was easy to set up and it is extending both bands. It looks like pretty good value for money but I need to first check outside, whether the extender providing any extra coverage.

Reading the 1-star reviews I was a bit uneasy ordering this extender but, knock on wood, mine connected with ease and, so far, works flawlessly. It is ver.1.0 in case anyone's wondering.Full disclosure: I'm a retired geek with advanced knowledge of all kinds of hardware.I had fun time with the setup as, with every new device, I go via web connecting as admin to my router. It's an Orbi, with no actual WPS button; it has a Sync button instead. At first, the extender didn't seem to get connected; it kept on blinking. It took about 2 minutes for the light to go solid blue, and then both bands went active. After that, I relocated the extender to where I actually need it - it blinked for a minute, then solid light and both bands active. Easiest setup ever and I did not need tin install any additional crapware on my phone.Since I need to get a bit more coverage to other part of the house, I just bought a second one of these extenders. No regrets. If they start to misbehave, I'll update the rating accordingly.

Easy to setup and seems to be working well. Only issue with this compared to the D-link is that you have to connect to the extender when needed and back to regular wifi when needed, whereas the D-link you only connect through the wifi and don't have to go back and forth.

The TP-Link AC1900 WiFi Extender (RE550) is an excellent solution for extending WiFi coverage in large homes. With coverage of up to 2800 sq. ft. and support for 35 devices, it delivers strong, reliable signals throughout my house, eliminating dead zones in previously weak areas. The dual-band speed of up to 1900Mbps ensures smooth streaming, gaming, and browsing without any noticeable lag or buffering, even when multiple devices are connected. The setup was straightforward thanks to the TP-Link Tether app, which guided me through the process quickly. The smart signal indicator was particularly helpful in finding the best spot to place the extender for optimal performance. The Gigabit Ethernet port is another standout feature, allowing for a wired connection to devices like my gaming console, which boosts speeds and reduces latency.Overall, the RE550 delivers on its promise of better WiFi coverage and improved performance. It’s a great investment for anyone looking to eliminate WiFi dead spots and ensure smooth connectivity across many devices.

The item has a sleek design, I was impressed with the exterior. If you are using a whole house modem and you are wondering where the WPS button is, it's in the whole house modem administration online. (Just in case you were wondering). It was a breeze to link the TP no problem once I found the WPS online. The problem came when I went to the tplinkreaper.net to configure my new TP. The link is not a link to configure but rather to download their app. I was sorely disappointed. I read their privacy policy and there is nothing private about their policy. They will monitor what you do and they will exploit it as they see fit. I am a business owner and I didn't like that. The first two reviews for the TP link app are great, the rest are not, with good reason. Overall, the product itself is GREAT. Hooking it up to the modem is also GREAT. Their link to configure is misleading and results in the need to give your complete privacy away through their app.

I have been using another Extender for a couple of years now, it works, but I the connection is not always stable or available for devices I need to connect outside, but it works 85% of the time. And I always have doubts or cannot always trust the extender always feed coverage / signal connections. I have tried 2 other products of extenders but they worked pretty much the same. That is why I thought...well, it's probably my problem how everything is constructed and lay out in regards to the areas I need to use this extender. So I have given up in trying to find something better because I think it's going to be pretty much the same results. So last week I finally decided to give another chance to look for a better Extender, I found this, but at first I didn't have much high hope, I would just try it and then refund it if the performance is not what I expected. But to my surprise, the signal is so much stronger providing VERY stable and solid connections ! Now I feel 100% with this extender providing solid connection, I can see my devices loading faster, and not drops at all, everything just work so much better now. Very happy. Now in my case, I'm not so much concerned about "dead zones" is more like I need a solid connection to where I need to use it and this extender performed just that, a solid connection. My internet connect is pretty solid so if the extender can extend it, then everything will be fine, again, this extender did a solid job in extending connection. I'm sure this extender can always broadcast a very long range of connection to help reduce dead zones/spots.Oh, in terms of installation/setup, I do recommend to use the "Tether" app to setup. It's easier for most users. But if you have experience with extenders, you can always connect to the extender network and use a browser (i.e. your phone, iPad, or even a computer) to configure and setup the extender. For me, I used the Tether app to setup the Extender, and I used the Tether app to check status of the extender but the browser offers you more options in settings (i.e. changing wifi passwords - you cannot do that with the Tether app). The instructions are all there in the piece of paper and it's not long so don't need to be scared, it's pretty easy. Just follow what it says. And basically you can just setup/configure using the Tether app but the app is 80 Mb so I might delete it and just connect to the extender and configure / monitor from a browser going forward (just need to save the URL on my browser)If you want to use the Tether to setup/configure this extender you will need (do it before you setup the extender):1. Create a d-link account (very easy, just need an email and create a password)2. Have a Password Handy for your Extender - make 1 up (You need to create a login password to your Extender - You don't want everyone to be able to connect to your Extender and mess things up right?) - you will still need this even if you don't use a Tether app to setup your extender.3. Have your WIFI password ready (the password of the WIFI connection that you want the extender to use). If you are connecting your extender to your router/modem directly with a cable, you do not need this but I think most people are trying to extender their WIFI connections wirelessly.Worth every penny imo, I got this on sale for $60 CDN + tax. . 5 Stars product. Good Luck and hope this extender will be the last one you need for years to come.

Also Repeater und Extender neu installiert, keine Besserung.
