My Cockatoo, Jimmy, has lived in the same big, clean cage that I got for him at 6 weeks old. It's 19 years later, and maybe 8 years ago the latch broke that controlled the big door, so I had it zip tied and was just using the smaller door for paper changes / cleaning, etc. I literally searched for YEARS trying to find a replacement latch without success. I've occasionally searched over the years and one day, BOOM!!! I found this near exact match. Was it an EXACT match? NO, as some folks here have said. still, I was able to get 2 holes to align, and then had to drill the other 2 and use stainless steel wood screws to self-tap through the very thin metal. This was for the large latch piece. For the small "socket" one screw lined up and I just drilled and used a screw for the other hole. Pretty easy. Just had to search for small enough screws at the hardware store. Works great, but I'm gonna buy 1 or 2 more for back-up. Don't want to have to search for one ever again.

Great bird cage lock. Works well and is solid construction. I would recommend this lock.

Perfect fit and easy to install! It has been installed for a while now with zero issue rusting and is secure. Easy to open, too, with no sticking.Our cage is second hand and doesn’t have a brand label on it, so I was worried about purchasing a replacement lock when the original broke. I compared the measurements in the description and photos to the cage and lock I had and it ended up being exact.
