The threads on the new base where the antenna mask connects to it are larger than the threads on the original base and I didn't think to check this before I installed it. My mistake. For $20.00, I purchased a new mast from Auto Zone that came with several adapters and a new antenna so I was able to install the antenna mast and "rock on" down the road. It would be helpful to know one should check this out before installing the cable and base since it's a difficult install. Because the cable fit, was shipped quickly and arrived in new confition, and was a fair price (excluding the extra $20), I'd buy from this seller again.

2001 Yukon. Pull both dash side panels off, pull two air vents off, remove the dash screws and pull the dash cover off, pull both side pillars off. The dash cover will probably crack and leave some forward mounts, just a cheep dash panel design with No aftermarket replacements. I am going to use Velcro where the mounts go and put some fiberglass on the underside of the panel to reinforce it. Anyway, the connector will be near the passenger pillar. Remove the old unit with a draw string attached to the old wire so you don't have to remove other parts of the dash. Save and re-use your 20yr old Firewall rubber, which is more flexible than the hard plastic piece they use on this new unit. Pull the wire thru, pull the fender if you want to get the old rubber back in the hole. Reassemble pieces. Works well but hard plastic firewall mount.
