It's nostalgic but you can't fight for tag team belts or smaller championships in season mode. It's very limited and you're unable to go online due to the server taken down a few years back.

Classic wwe action smack down vs raw this in 06 are the best vs raw games and the end of the ruthless aggression wwe area the last good area in the business get your hands on this classic game 2nd best wwe game other than Here Comes the Pain..all though were is Goldberg, and Brock Lesner they both were at mania xx only complaints and Kevin Nash am I right. Other than the 3 missing wrestlers the game is a classic create a PPV is back AND better than ever. The season is lame but look past Season just play it for the cash to unlock the hidden items. Every match type you can think of is here first blood hell in a cell hardcore u name it tag 3 way royal rumbles hours and hours of fun. The controls are classic smackdown style moves and moves of all your favorite superstars. All in all this game is the second best wwe game in the smacdown series. I recently bought WWE Smackdown Vs Raw for the PS2, which by the way is a PS2 exclusive.I have to say that I'm very impressed with this game and really don't understand why so many people have gripes with this game, it's actually one of the best WWE SVR games available and one of the better WWE games released. I much prefer it to games like WWE 12 and perhaps WWE 13 as well in some ways.Anyway, here's my review-Graphics-The really impressive aspect about this game is the graphics. They're really good. The presentation is also really good. The wrestlers themselves are smooth looking, the game runs at 60 frames per second, and normally with most PS2 games I often complain about jaggedness, this game barely has any other than around some wrestlers hair textures. This game really shows off what the PS2's capable of.Also, I notice that while most of the WWE games have a regular blocky crowd with flat texturing, the crowd in this game is actually very animated and they do things such as dances, taunts, move around and so forth. This game is easily comparable to Gamecube's Day of Reckoning series, but it looks a lot better with some exceptions. While the graphics are excellent, I had a few gripes such as the fact certain wrestlers aren't accurate in size. For example, "A-Train" (Now known as Tensai) is a big wrestler, but he doesn't have enough weight nor is his face detailed enough for my liking. Tensai's head is supposed to be big and his body shape's a mix between thick and fat, his body shape in the game looks thick looking but a little too muscular for my liking. He also should be slightly taller being that he's a huge wrestler. Also, wrestlers like Booker T could've used a little more while other wrestlers looked fine. I was particularly impressed with how good the Dudley Boys looked. The in game menu features either smackdown or Raw divas gyrating on the screen in full size. They look very accurate and life like but also very smooth. It's just really impressive to see the PS2 pull this off.Impressive.Sound-One thing I wasn't too crazy about in this game would've been the commentary and the Day of Reckoning borrowed soundtrack featured. I'm just not crazy about these songs being that I heard them so many times. Still, that doesn't make the soundtrack bad. The wrestlers themes are accurate and commentary is scarce. I'd of personally preferred more commentary; but that's not the case. During the season mode, you get voice overs, and while some sound alright, there are quite a few that sounded dull. Lilian Garcia also does the announcing during a wrestler coming out but for some reason she sounds a little too loud or as if her announcing is on top of everything.Nothing major but could've been better.Gameplay-I really enjoy the pace of this game. For one, the action is fast and fluid while being realistic and chock full of moves. The graphics really add to the moves you pull off. For one, a chairshot looks and sounds brutal. A slam looks like it really has that extra impact. Some wrestlers will slam the holy hell out of another wrestler and it looks like it hurts alot. Some of the gameplay mechanics in this game are really good such as during the beginning of a match you can shove your opponent, lock up for a test of strength or talk smack amongst other things, you also get a Dirty, Clean and Neutral style of gameplay and depending on what you do during the course of a match is what will potentially earn you a reward. For example, if you're a "Dirty" wrestler, removing a turnbuckle pad or hiding behind a referee, using weapons or choking and pulling off illegal moves will give you momentum or grant you a "dirty finisher". I'm not sure what happens with clean or neutral. Some gamers were somehow disappointed with this roster, but I happened to like this roster and you can always create wrestlers. The roster features- Booker T, A Train (Lord Tensai), Scotty 2 Hotty, Rob Van Dam, Shawn Michael, Triple H, The Dudley Boys, Animal and Hawk (LOD), Roddy Piper, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Mark Jindrak, Batista, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Molly Holly, Victoria (TNA's Tara), Sable, Torrie Wilson, Trish Stratus, Stacy Keibler, Shelton Benjamin, Kane, The Big Show, John Cena, JBL, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Christian, Charlie Haas, Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Rhyno, Matt Hardy, Rico, Chuck Palumbo, Rico, Tajiri, Andre the Giant, Paul Heyman, and some others including Masked Kane, Legend Undertaker etc.The CAW is pretty good and reminiscent of Gamecube's DAY OF RECKONING only perhaps a little less in my opinion. The game modes are standard with the main attraction being Elimination Chamber or 3 Stages of Hell. You also have Single, Tag Team (tornado, elimination), Bra and Panties, Royal Rumble, Battle Royal, Triple Threat, Fatal 4 way, Ladder Match, TLC, Steel Cage etc. This was the only disappointing aspect of the game would be the selection of matches, but it's more than sufficient and the gameplay more than makes up for it. This game also featured weight detection which I loved. For example, Shawn Michaels or Tajiri cannot pick up the Undertaker unless arm dragging or perhaps suplexing if even that, instead they will pull off different moves or struggle to try and pick them up while failing to do so. If a lightweight wrestler hits a heavyweight such as Undertaker at times Taker would just shrug off and "no sell" the hits. (In fact, this can even happen with two heavyweights)The grapple system can be a little weird being that grapple is also the irish whip button. The control is a mixed bag and greatly reminds me of SDSYM's control. (Smackdown- Shut your Mouth)Bottom line, if you're looking for a good wrestling game that features great gameplay and lots of reversals that have impact, brutal moves, good graphics and sound, then look no further. This game doesn't really compare to SVR2006, but it's not too far behind and it's one of my favorites.

I think this game is great with some bad things.GOOD: The graphics are amazing and they finally have real music. The parking lot brawl is awsome in almost every way. too bad you cant drive the cars. Creating superstars has some new clothse and stuff and of course it has all the new characters. The voice over in season mode is so coolBAD: The create attributes are terrible because your superstar will suck inless you spend hours in season mode. there is only one backstage area(but the area is very big)
