I have an old laptop that gets pretty warm. I purchased this as a protective mat to shield the desk from too much heat. It works very well and I feel safer if the computer is left on all day unattended.

Works as expected , BUT BEWARE OF STATICthis material is extremely electrostatic , so you have to ground is on antistatic mat or something .and more you clean it , more is static

This mat is 2–3 times thicker than a typical soldering mat. This provides extra protection for my bench when using a hot air rework station. The silicone material works great to keep boards from moving around when working on them. The white colour makes it easy to see parts, screws, etc.If there is a downside, the mat can be susceptible to superficial scratching from tools (e.g. tweezers). This is not an issue for me.
