The table grip keeps sliding from original position.Alligator clips are only held by friction, not secured by screw.Arms are made of plastic, I would not advise for soldering job.On the plus side the alligator clips are heat shrunk to provide grip and protection on the job.This is only for light duty type.I've since replaced it with a metal arm helping hand with metal base and magnets
