Great little board. Purchased to replace an aging Openspot 1 and to give my pi some life again. Using on a Pi 4 and no issues, did not have to remove R1 resistor. Ships with FW 1.5.2.

I hooked it to a PI3B and bang it worked perfect. I moved it over to a fully decked out PI5 and it worked perfect (no mods required). In fact I ran the WPSD calibration and found that it was already on the best setting as delivered. Very happy with purchase!

No problem with getting it going. Easy upgrade to the latest firmware too within pi-star...no having to mess with soldering jumpers or other crap. My offset had to be set at -225, which I suppose isn't too bad; but there are newer boards out there that have a zero offset out there.

I already had a D Star hotspot, but I wanted to get one for DMR. I found a video online showing how to set up Pi Star with a Raspberry Pi and this board. It was simple, and has worked perfectly. I have used it a little on D Star, but primarily just used it on DMR.I sometimes wish I had bought a full duplex model. It can be hard to disconnect or change talkgroups if you're on a busy DMR group like 91.

I gave in to the urge to buy a digital radio even though I live far from any repeaters so I needed a hotspot. There is such a large selection of pi hats for making the hotspot so I researched and bought the AURSINC as I have some other products from them and they have always been good.I had a Raspberry Pi 3 on the shelf collecting dust so I decided to jump in. I wish I had done it sooner. I installed the Pi-Star image on the Pi and configured it. Pretty good. Then I came across the WPSD image, and Oh My Goodness! It is so good! I can see activity including names, callsigns, and countries so I can track who is active at the moment. Click on the callsign and it pulls up QRZ.com to log the contact. Couldn't be much easier!
