I have only used this for trolling for stocked trout.Works good. Extra height helps set the rods how I like them for trolling.

Supposed to fit Scotty rod holders, well, kind of. The rotational locking lugs fit well. However, I would have to grind down the bottom of the rod holder mounting ear a bit so that the extension would turn freely. Wasn't prepared to do that.Also, the end without the nut was too thick for the Scotty knob bolt, wasn't prepared to grind that down either.And the Brocraft knob bolt is metric thread, 8mm, whereas the Scotty is 5/16nc, so I can't even swap them around. I returned it and paid the dollar extra for the real deal.

This worked perfectly! I have an Eagle Talon kayak, and the front rod holder is too far forward from the factory to be easily reached. This extension fit with the factory rod holder that came with the kayak. The result was exactly what I had hoped for. As you can see from the pictures, it brought the rod holder back to a comfortable position. The extension itself is very well built and looks like it will hold up to plenty of hard use. Great product!

Pricey for a piece of plastic (got 2), but fits Brocraft rod holders with aluminum brackets perfectly.

I bought the extensions to go with the Brocraft rod holders because I had to deck mount the rod holders on the casting deck or bench seat.. They work well to get the rod and reel up off of the deck far enough to make getting to them easy to remove the rod or put it in place. They are made well and are strong enough to handle hard fish strikes or snagged line while trolling as long as the drag is set on the reel. I am happy with mine so far and do not see a problem in the future.

These are great. Bought them to provide more room in my kayak as the flush mounted holders made things too cramped. The additional height of these does the trick perfectly. My biggest concern was the extra leverage these would put on the mounting base and rail system of my kayak when trolling and when that big 25# Lame Michigan king salmon hit. I'm still waiting for the kings to run, but this handle a 20# pissed off flathead catfish with ease.
