Being able to hang rods at different heights really helps a ton to have reels at different heights, so that they are not bumping into each other. Certainly makes for easier handling and more compact arrangement. It does require 2 hands, which I do not find to be a problem, but should be considered when you make the purchase. The 2 handed design is because of the use of springs. Other designs use gravity which allows for one-handed operation and of course gravity is not going to fail, where springs might fail.

So, sometimes you have to make choices. This rack looks especially nice. I have a different style rack and it isn't nearly as good looking. The other rack, however, is easier to use. This one requires two hands to operate, one to move the mechanism and one for the pole. My other one it is easy to use the pole to push the mechanism up, at which point you can remove the pole or just pull down and lock it into place. Both offer you the ability to stagger the vertical position of the rods so that your reels are not all banging or stuck together. Both hold the rods securely in place. I am more of a function over form kind of person, so I prefer the less pretty, but easier to use one. I am usually taking out or stowing multiple rods at a time and have one in each hand, so the one handed operation is much better for me.If you are more looking for form over function, this holder is a great choice. It does look very nice and seems well made. I do think this is likely to outlast the other one as well.

Easy to put up, holds rods securely and rod holder doesn’t stick far off the wall. Great design

This is plain and simple rod hanger that was easy to attach to the wall. It came with appropriate screws, etc... and I was able to have it up and hanging rods in under a few minutes. It takes two hands to place your rod. One opens the swivel clamp and the other places the rod. It can be done one handed but I find that too cumbersome. It's quicker and easier to use two hands.Highly Recommended.
