I’ve got a smoker craft hunting/fishing boat has some oddball rails on. It had a hard time finding holders that will fit over the rail. I did customize a piece of oak and bolted it to the Holder it’s self works really well.

love the brackets, but your bolts are too short by 1/2 inch. my boat is a 2007 and the bolts only go through bracket and boat than through other side but no threading is sticking out for the nut. now i have to buy stainless steel bolts to install them.

The bolt that tightens the holder on to the gunnal of the boat is too long to give this decent stability. There is a hole on the other side of the clamp for another bolt and if you can get a bolt/boot/handle flanged up for the other side it would be a good holder.That being said this rod holder sucks as is. I nearly lost my fishing rod when i tried this out on the lake in a little aluminum boat. I would return the set but one of the rod holders ended up at the bottom of the lake!
