I read some of the negative reviews, so I was kind of prepared for the worst. There are no instructions, but putting it together isn't exactly rocket science. I bought this for my Nucanoe Flint. Although there are rod holders built into the kayak, and I have a 3-rod holder on the utility box behind me, getting to the rods were difficult. I can store two rods in the side rod holders without much trouble, but I needed one for the tracks on my kayak. This one works well. It tightens down on the tracks once I figured out how to loosen the base tab, and it holds my rod safely.

Overall, this is a great rod holder for my kayak. Only thing I am a little leery about it the little lever that you use to release it from the track mount. Could be fine, might be an issue down the road, I guess we will see, but it works every bit as well as my Scottys otherwise and the extension articulates well and helps keep my rod handy when I get a strike.

I got 2 of the extender version and I am very happy especially for the price. The extender can be moved around to for the angles and height you want easily. I have no trouble adjusting anything while on my yak. I’m a lazy fisherman and just throw some corn on a hook with one pole and throw it in the holder. 27-30 inch carp run like hades with the yum yums and the holders stay secure. The little arm that you can move over your pole is a nice touch. You do have to get creative with some reel types. But it can work with anything. I have tried the big name and they don’t compare.

I like the way it is made.It is well made and is cheaper than the one that I looked at. I purchased one to try and so fare it works like a charm. I will be getting three more in the near future.

I use this Rod holder on a Old Town 120pdl, my only complaint is with longer handled rod's, they sometimes interfere with my feet as I pedal. I need to find an extension to get the rod holder further from my feet. The holder mounts easily to the track system and seems sturdy.

It seems sturdy. I haven’t mounted it yet so I can comment on its functionality yet. The arm that secures the fishing pole in place could be more secure. It locks in place by snapping a little bump on the arm into a shallow divet. Not sure how long it will be before that bump wears down and the arm will no longer lock in place. That can easily be fixed down the road.

I like the rod holder although if you dont get it tight enough it will spin the rod when your trolling. Takes a lot to tighten it.
