Absolute garbage. It was seized straight out of the package. I had to yank so hard on it that it extended all the way out, then it wouldn't go back in. Had to hammer it back in, at which point it went all the way in and seized again. Tried lubricating the shaft with no improvement. Eventually it yanked out so far that it went past the stop nubs and came apart. Went to the local Autozone store and had to pay over double for the exact same part, and even it wanted to seized, but I at least got it to work.

Bought because the oem on my F150 was getting hard to turn and getting stuck. Installed that Dorman steering shaft and I felt strait away a big 1 inch of play in my steering wheel. I removed it from the truck and put it in the vise. The universal joint are tight but the telescopic joint in the middle section have a "lot" of play. about 1 mm of play which result in about a inch of play at the 15" steering wheel. I end up cleaning and greasing the old oem steering shaft and put it back in the truck. Unfortunately, I can't recommend that part.

Great value, slight bit of 'slap' in actual slide when extended that you can feel in wheel when turning sometimes, but doesnt seem to hinder operation or have any wander on the road, easily replaced, lube old one for several days to ease removal!

The part arrived defective. Steering clunked with it installed. Ended up returning it and just spending the extra money on one from the dealership.

I have tried a cheaper version for $90 bucks that made the steering wheel off-center and then I bought this version for $200 bucks. The steering wheel is straight, but it feels really loose when you’re turning almost like a clunking or not being tight. So I went to a Ford dealer and spend the $500 for the Ford original shaft and now it’s perfect again! drives smooth. I know it’s tempting to buy aftermarket parts like this one. For most they are usually pretty good but with this, my advice is that I would go with the original one.

Look on orileys website and they showed these for the replacement they wanted around 200$ so I went on Amazon and this is 100$+ cheaper. Old shaft slipped off and the new one slipped right on. Honestly is the easiest thing you can install your self. If you have a little play in your steering and it feels like your loosing power steering sometimes this is the fix to your problem. Lots of videos to show how to install it to!

Had this installed . Steering actually got worse. Had my mechanic remove it a day later. Do yourselves a favor spend the money on a original Ford shaft.

This part has a quality feel right out of the box. The shaft went right in and my steering wheel is perfectly straight after, no alignment needed. My steering has zero slop with this new shaft. It feels like a better part than the factory piece. The welds were nice, the pinch ends are nice, the bolts go right in. This steering shaft went into my 2014 F150. The factory shaft had a damaged lower u-joint which resulted in a dangerous intermittently stiff steering feel and extra slop in the steering. The old shaft will be corroded in place, you'll need to work it off with a hammer. Upper pinch bolt is 35 ft-lbs, the lower is 22 ft-lbs.

This part was easy to install and seemed to operate just like OEM and would have rated 5 stars but after only a few months the steering feels loose through the steering wheel. I double-checked the bolts weren’t too loose which they weren’t so the feel is coming from the universal joint itself. Long way of saying buy OEM.
