I have proper soldering stations, such as a certain famous brand, and a made in china brand that seems to be a knock off the famous brand. They work well, but they cost several times the price I paid for this unit. I was not expecting much, but wow... this thing is such a nice little unit! Heats up fast, melts solder very well...

In this set you will get 6 pcs. of t12-type tips, for that amount of money it’s almost a gift. It’s very easy to solder joints with huge gnd planes, you will definitely see the difference comparing it to average 900m tips.

I'm just a hobbyist and the guy in the family who fixes stuff, so i don't usually need industrial strength tools or high levels of precision. In soldering matters i'm generally concerned with "hot" and "notso hot"; i'm not fussed about accurate temperatures. So i haven't done anything so scientific as hooking a thermocouple to this thing. It's worked for everything i've needed, from soldering thick wire to BMS boards to repairing the minuscule contacts on a micro-USB port. And while i don't much care about precision, having a temperature display and adjustment is a lot more useful than not having one.The generous assortment of tips is an awesome bonus. It's a very versatile tool which has held up to a lot of use and abuse.Well worth the money at this price point.EDIT: Sadly need to downgrade my review because this thing did not age well. I don't change tips a lot but the last time i did the tip misaligned in the sleeve and, since i'd come to trust the thing, i wasn't paying attention while it was catching fire. It's hard to do a postmortem on melted bits of plastic but the only explanation i have is wear on the materials. Which shouldn't have happened to a thing that doesn't get much wear.I understand there's only so much one can expect from cheap Chinese products. Only at the end of its lifespan this product not only failed it *CAUGHT FIRE*. Be aware, be safe.

I've used this several times now and it's worked just fine every time. While I have not changed tips yet I like having an assortment to choose from. It heats up quickly enough and maintains the selected temp quite wellThe only thing I don't really care for is the rest provided when the iron is not in use. I'm used to a coiled spring like device to hold my irons and readily protect the iron from things around it and accidental touching the tip my the operator or others nearby. Not a big deal as I am using a home made protective stand which is working fine. For the price I paid I'm happy and will remain so as long as this equipment lasts for awhile.

I was looking for a decent direct heating-type iron similar to the fancy models from the big brands like Hakko, JBC, Pace, etc, but I also wanted to avoid paying $300+. I was thinking I'd have to choose one of the million variants of the "KSGER" (actually made by who knows how many different manufacturers) driving a pencil with Hakko T12-style tips, or maybe the T80/T100. By chance I came across this "FEITA" (other than a sticker on the box, it's actually the BAKON BK950D). After being impressed by some reviews and teardowns, I decided this would be my next iron. Given it's $35 price and inclusion of 6 tips, the choice ended up being a no-brainer.Having used it a few times now, I can happily report that this iron doesn't disappoint. In fact, I'm quite impressed. This is the first time I've used a direct heating iron, and to me it's game changing. Not only does it get to temperature really fast, but the way it transfers heat to solder joints is just amazing. Of course, that's not limited to just this iron, but it does add to my satisfaction. As for this specific unit, you get a lot for your money. The power supply is well engineered and surprisingly uses some name-brand components. The interface is simple but complete. You can manually set the desired temp, or select one of four presets. While I'm used to the power supply/controllers on solder stations being big and bulky, I find the BK950D's small size to be a convenience. Why take up unnecessary bench space? The pencil is ok, but not great (but totally satisfactory for the price), and best I can tell, actually uses Hakko T13 style tips. Eventually, I'll probably buy a different pencil using T12s that you can find available for the KSGER, but for now the included one suits me just fine.Bottom line: Excellent iron for the money. In fact, I'd consider it a good buy at almost twice the price. Maybe I should buy another so that I can dual wield irons.

Shipped prime. Nice selection of tips. Used immediately and set to preset 3, HEATS QUICK, perfect temp for quick melt, tin leads and pads, touch connect on board, and done. Quality is 9 out of ten as the box and handle are light plastic, sturdy but light, to keep the cost down I'm sure. Nice product for the price. Like that the actual iron is common plug and replaceable if it wears out.
