It’s an awesome little project I needed to practice on my surface mount PCB soldering skills kept having issues with bridging pads together and burning up other pads issue was I had been using the FrogBro with stock tip it can be used to kinda work like a temp control unit by using the thumb pad to flutter between on and off but it takes finesse and lots of concentration and the tips are extremely large for what kind of work I was using it for I just got a Fanttik T-1 max or whatever model it is that has 5 different tips 5-6 different temperature control settings a way nicer Ingersoll Rand style halo type light around the tip and the perfect tips for just this type of work paired with some high quality electrical safe flux and yeah baby I’ve never populated boards like this so fast can’t ask for better and the project did what it promised it gave me the practice on surface mount soldering I desperately needed the

The PCB is gorgeous but the kit comes with no instructions and none of the components are labelled. So it's pretty much a waste of money.

Ok shipping. The components are identified by the number per package (ex: 4x resistor 0805) or by size and there is a spare part per resistor and per capacitor. The schematic is easy to understand and the parts are identified on the board. The center is for a working circuit (counter 0 to 9 with 0805 parts and leds) and the side is for practicing.

While I started to use soldering irons at 6 years old (some 50 years ago!), I just equipped myself to deal for SMD soldering. I needed to practice and try my new soldering kit (soldering iron and blower). This little kit is great with parts going from small to minuscule and a working circuit in the middle that will reveal instantly if you did a good job (I did!).Highly recommended.

I'm glad I decided to do this project last, after doing 2 other soldering practice kits. Of the 3 kits, this was the only kit that had 0402 components. They are TINY. Thankfully, with a magnifier, a pair of tweezers, and a fairly steady hand, I was successful in placing and flowing all of the components in the first try, with very little cleanup required!This was also the most gratifying kit of the three; a central blue LED flashes quickly, a ring of 12 blue LEDs run in a chase pattern, and four green LEDs at the corners flash on and off in unison.

This board had lots of stuff to practice on but nothing is labeled and there are hardly any instructions so unless you already have a masters in electronics you won’t be able to figure it out. At least I cant
