I have been using my LaserPecker 2 for a few months now and am very impressed with its capabilities. I have found a lot of success engraving on wood, paper/cardboard, painted metal like tumblers or dog tags, stainless steel, slate and rock. It creates very crisp images quite quickly compared to other lasers. The mobile app is very intuitive as is the laser itself which means even if you have no experience with lasers, you can use this machine and find a lot of success. The roller attachment is invaluable and opens so many more possibilities. Being able to engrave cylinders is amazing but being able to flip the rollers upside down and use the machine in trolly mode makes this machine so unique. All of its features are so easy to use and create an amazing result every time. When I used this machine for the first time, it lost power after 30 minutes of run time. I tried it again the next day and ran into the same issue. I contacted their support and they were quickly able to determine that I had a faulty power supply and sent me a new one right away free of charge. I have not had an issue with the machine since.Overall I really enjoy this machine and the ability to customize your things as well as create unique custom gifts for people is so amazing. I am excited to continue to try new things with this laser and have been strongly considering upgrading to the LaserPecker 4 for its increased functionality.

This came the next day and was packaged very well. I was impressed already. I had it put together quicker than I could find the app and get it installed. I did watch a few youtube videos on the unit beforehand, so I already had an idea of the operational steps making it quick and easy to start. I have tested several items with mostly great luck. The recommended settings for different materials is a great start point and easy to change depending on the look you want. I have so far engraved wood, plastic, leather, tumblers and even a hockey puck.My only negative so far, which may be a simple learning curve for me, is using the roller unit with stainless drinkwear. I tried first without the gimmicky rubber bands they send with, and that was no good. Because the wheels are not rubber, there isn't enough "grab" when trying to turn the mug/tumbler. When I used the bands it worked better, but still far from perfect. If the tumbler is not a perfect cylinder, the roller unit needs to be propped on one end to level out the engraving surface (which is fine), but then with little traction from the bands, the tumbler may want to follow gravity down and skew your engraved image. I know there's a way...perseverance will prevail!Overall very cool little unit and the company is amazing at getting back to you if you have questions.Great started for those just getting to know engraving. And if you're business minded, you can likely get your money back in no time selling pieces made with the LP2.

I bought this mainly for customizing leatherwork that I make and sell. Due to the design it allows me to engrave almost any item even after I make it. I have another device with a laser but it's basically on a 3d printer so I can't engrave on large items and what I could engrave I usually had to do before I assembled the finished piece which means I can't pre-build inventory. On the stand and handheld it works well, the rotary attachment also works well but the app rotation preview has issues I'll touch on later. I was amazed that it marked my stainless steel Yeti mug, not just burning the coating (there is none, see last pic) but actually changing the colour of the metal.Slab and trolley mode, two features that really were selling points to me are in fact not really usable at all. The rollers are knurled metal and don't actually grip that well so no matter what the engraving in slab and trolley mode is almost always crooked. You can try playing around with making guides (I'm currently designing some 3d printed ones) to help mitigate this issue but I feel I need to point it out that out of the box these two features really aren't functional despite what the promotional material might have you believe. I think when they switched from the rubber wheels to the knurled metal it might have introduced issues that weren't there before but they had to make the change to address a fire hazard after a user melted their rollers.Software. This is where I really feel there is room for improvement. First off there are two apps, a person might think that the Laser Pecker app is for the first model and the Laser Pecker 2 app is for the second model but you would be wrong ;) The first app is their "stable" app and the other is their beta, however there are even other versions in beta that aren't public yet. In the Facebook group there are members with access and it seems like this new soon to be released software will fix everything but it seems the release had been being hinted at back as far as June of 2022 but it's still not released. For run of the mill engraving the "stable" app is ok once you get your head around the orientation (it's upside down when in stand mode). Rotation preview does not work in the stable Android app nor in slab or trolley mode. The preview does work in the Beta Laser Pecker 2 app though but I find there's features from the stable app that are missing in that one (import from Dropbox etc) so I find myself jumping between the two. Recently I've hit a few bugs where my files were too large and won't preview at all (black box), this despite my files being 100mm at 300dpi. This is partly because the software uses its own oddball resolution notation based on dots per 100mm (1k, 1.3k, 2k). If you reduce the image size a little it will work. However, and this kills me, since in slab and trolley mode you shouldn't have a 100mm limit on the one side I find reducing the resolution unacceptable. Again this is supposed to be fixed in the much talked about but never seen next release of software. Sorry for my rant :)All that aside, I'm still happy with my purchase with hopes that the software will improve. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a card inside the packaging offering a free carrying case and metal "tray" for engraving/cutting on if you email them your feedback. I got mine in less than two weeks and it's a very nice case.Bottom lineIf you have a side hustle making things this tool will pay itself off in no time by giving you the ability to customize and personalize objects. There really are no other galvo lasers (mirror based) in the same price range. There is a Laser Pecker 4 coming out soon that is a dual laser which you might want to check out first if that will suit your needs better.
