It works really well and is great for the price. I use it for lots of things. I didn't know how useful a magnifying lense and alligator holders could be. I don't do much soldering but I have used it for soldering and it worked well and held up mechanically. It's in storage for now but I'll be taking it out of storage when it's time to really build out my SBC-based prototype. Thanks.

One of the arms has no threads in to allow the screw to tighten up. Poor quality control. No option to replace only return.

It's a good little contraption. I use a digital microscope for really fine soldering, but for the majority of stuff I really don't need that, and this fills that gap perfectly. The magnifying glass is quite strong, the light is nice and bright (with added color warmth, which is great for differing natural light levels). There is a removeable metal dish in it, that I honestly didn't even notice upon purchase, that is super handy for everything from emptying your solder sucker, to small components/screws. My only gripe, is that for some reason I thought this had magnetic gooseneck alligator clips, which is doesn't. They're completely fixed (screwed in). I'd been looking at a similar item that was magnetic and must have confused the 2. This can be annoying for getting the perfect angle, but for the most part it's been pretty good. One gooseneck has become loose which is kind of annoying after only less than a week of light use, but it pretty much becomes solid once a 2nd one is connected to your project, so it's really only an issue if you're using that one alone (which you'd never really do anyways). But I am worried more will become loose like this. I think eventually I might just superglue some magnets to the bases to have the moveable, but for the time being it works just fine. I will add, they could have put the wired remote for controlling light warmth and brightness closer to the device itself (or even on the light itself), it's kind of in the middle of the device and plug, which is annoying to have to pull it up as it's usually close to the floor. But again, it's a minor gripe in the grand scheme of things. Overall, other than the loose gooseneck, the construction is pretty solid with a nice heavy base.

Gutes Produkt mit kleineren Mankos.Der Zusammenbau ging schnell und war einfach zu bewerkstelligen. Ein kleiner Schraubendreher liegt bei und 2 Krokoklemmen als Ersatz sind ebenfalls vorhanden.Hier die erste kleine Kritik. Bei der ersten Nutzung verbogen ich die Erste, da der Schrumpfschlauch der Klemmen zwischen den Zähnen zusammenklebte. Ein bißchen hebeln mit der Pinzette schaffte Abhilfe, danach funktionierten sie wie sie sollten.Die Platte ist recht schwer und steht stabil bei den Armen war die kleine Netzteil Platine schon grenzwertig vom Gewicht. Also eher für kleine Sachen brauchbarer.Die Lupe mit der integrierten dimmbaren Beleuchtung ist eine echte Hilfe.Die Ablage in der Mitte finde ich eher unnötig, da es unhandlich ist Teile unter dem Werkstück abzulegen.Als zweiten kleine negativ Punkt, finde ich die Größe beim verstauen. Wenn man das Helferlein nicht jedesmal wieder auseinander Schrauben möchte, nimmt es recht viel Platz weg. Das wäre durch Magnet Halter anstatt Schrauben besser zu lösen, zu dem man dadurch auch mit den Armen flexibler wäre.

This was one of the cheeper helping hands that comes with a magnifying glass and light, so I wasn't expecting much.However, one of the alligator clips completely fell apart upon assembly.The arms are quite restricted on movement, and don't all have the same level of rigidity.For myself, this is all passable as I will only occasionally need to use it. If you're looking for a helping hand for regular use however, I would look at investing in a higher grade.

I was wondering whether this helping hand devise would live up to its promises. I am disabled and have very painful and weak hands and have been finding soldering very difficult, hence the purchase.The device arrived in a sturdy box, it had a little book with 2 pages of instructions per language, not that it was ever going to be difficult to put together. The items to be put together were all nicely packed to protect them, and it took me only 10 minutes to put together.The crocodile clips have rubber shrunk wrapped onto them to protect the items being held, which works well, the bendy arms all hold well and the position they are put at is where they stay, which is a must in my book.The light is very good and has 3 colours, very white, slight warm (which I like most) and very warm which is easy on your eyes at the end of the day. Light intensity is variable over a wide range and gives all the light you will ever need.The magnifying glass is of good quality and I found it to give enough magnification to see even very small details, I was pleased that it did what it should do unlike many lenses that promise but never deliver. I would have liked the lens to have been of a larger diameter, maybe 4 cm, but that is just my preference, it still does it's job very well. An improvement to the design would be a ball joint from the magnifying glass to its arm, just to make placing of the lens a little bit easier, it's not hard but for my hands it would be of some help, for most people I don't see it as a problem.The unit came with 2 spare Croc clips that was a nice touch.Conclusion;A very sturdy, and useful helping hand, it has made a significant improvement to my soldering and it lives up to its hype. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a helping hand while soldering or indeed any other craft pursuit etc. The alterations to the device I have suggested are all down to personal preference, if that was taken out of the equation this would be perfect.I give this a score of 9.9 out of 10, I love it.

As a longtime tech this device is a great aid to securing the ever-shrinking boards and material for soldering. The base is heavy enough to keep it stable and weight can be added by simply gluing some heavy washer on to the bottom. Adding a magnet to the bottom to the cup will help keep things in place. The flexible arms are sturdy enough to support most things including cables and small boards. Not necessarily an everyday use tool but very handy when needed.

This helping hands soldering station arrived promptly, is well packaged, and has four clips with flexible arms to hold what needs soldering. The lighted magnifying glass is a nice feature. The reason I gave it four stars rather than five is because one clip broke the first time I squeezed it to open the jaws. It was easily replaced by loosening a Philips screw and replacing it with a spare I had lying around. A bit disappointing but time will tell long-term reliability of the remaining parts.

Helping Hands Soldering Station, Lytool Third Hand Soldering Tool with 3X Magnifying Glass Dimmable LEDSome light assembly required, but nothing too difficult. Works well, should be useful fos small soldering or craft stuff. Not sure if I would pay 45.99 for it. The clamp arms seem to stay where you put them well, the light sometimes moves on it's own though.
