This iron is small and light. I use it for small fixups and soldering jobs. It works well and has a good assortment of tips available as a separate purchase.

This soldering iron kept shutting down when using a USB power bank. But my mistake was not using a Li-Po "PD" power bank so I bought one (Energizer QE20008PQ)and now it works great on the USB cable and remains portable. I'm not interested in using the wall plug-in power provided since it negates the compact & portable feature of this soldering iron. Very pleased that my new PD power bank works perfectly with this iron. Its a beautiful little soldering iron but it packs a punch and gives plenty of heat for your average wire soldering jobs. It heats up super quick which is great. And once you learn the menu system there are a ton of settings. Highly recommend!

I have a high end Weller soldering station on my workbench but I was looking for a quality portable soldering iron to carry with me in my RV. After reading many reviews Ian’s going through several cheap $10-$15 irons I thought I’d give the TS-101 a try and boy I’m glad I did!First off, this thing is small, about the size of a thick pencil. Plus the tip easily pulls out of the handle, effectively reducing the size (for storage) to about 3-1/2” long.Second, you can power it up with the included power cube off 110v OR by USB-C! (9-24v) I just use my charger from my Mack book- you need 90w for full output of the iron.Third, the iron heats up very fast. In about 9 seconds, goes into standby/cooldown when no movement is detected and reheats as soon as you pick it up again.Tips are replaceableSoftware/firmware is upgradable through the same USB-C port. (My iron came shipped with the latest available version)In closing, this is not an inexpensive soldering iron but it is not cheap in quality at all.I highly recommend it and would buy it again.

I solder mostly keyboard PCB components and keyboard switches. This little guy is great if you're on the go at keyboard conventions or making a sale in-person and something goes wrong. Bring a battery pack with you and you're ready for business. Keep in mind, your battery pack has to be able to output Qualcomm PD 3.0, at around 60W or so. I use an imuto 20,000 mAH external battery, and it works stock; no need for IronOS flashing. The included cable and stand is nice, but ultimately unnecessary. The cable itself is far too bulky compared to the actual size of the soldering iron, and the stand cannot keep the iron from rolling around. Actually, I find that just putting the plastic ring stand included in this kit does a far better job of keeping my iron from accidentally touching and burning things that it shouldn't than the stand. I've knocked over the iron a few times while on the actual stand.

I was looking for simple soldering iron to replace a cheap one I had that came in a soldering kit for 30$ on amazon. That one died after using it a third time. Therefore, I decided to invest in a decent soldering iron and this one was highly recommended online. I most use a soldering iron to build keyboards and fix small tech. The packaging was pretty nice and it came in 2 box. One containing the soldering iron and the tip. The second had various cable use to power the iron (wall plug and usb c). It felt small, but honestly, I love this size now.The UI is very easy to navigate. Click on the first button and then hold to enable temperature adjustment. It starts at 300C. This soldering iron heats up very quickly and holds it's temp well. You can easily find tips around 15$ on amazon which is awesome!Overall, I understand now why soo many people praise the TS100. For average consumers, this is the go-to soldering iron. There is the TS80 but it is not as powerful and it is more expensive on Amazon. Highly recommended for tech and keyboard enthusiasts!

I ordered this after seeing Adam Savage use it. I am an emergency vehicle upfitter and was skeptical that it would be of any legit quality given that it can run on a battery and how small it is. But I was wrong, this thing heats up just as fast as my expensive soldering station and is easy to use. Most importantly it is far more portable than any other style.

Great little portable soldering iron heats up fast and can be used with lots of different power sources. Very small, light and comfortable to work with. The extra tip kit makes it even more versatile.

Just got this today and am blown away! Out of the box it performs perfectly. Very fast heatup time. You can put custom firmware on it for an even better UI + data readout. Look up Ralim firmware, installation was surprisingly quick and easy. I am in love with seeing the continuous voltage, power, and tip temperature. Ergonomics aren't great for using as a desk iron, but it's top notch for portable.

This came with a power adapter that has a bit of a short cable (could buy a longer cord). I reflashed the firmware with Ralim's IronOS for the TS100. Now I can program it from the device and the temperature reads great! Love using the custom firmware features:Low Temp when idle, Sleep time to power off if you get busy! All of these with custom settings. Quite happy with this iron. I just did a 50 x 80 mm board with 0603, MSOP and SOIC parts and it was a breeze to use.I also appreciate that the case is NOT metal, as I soldered for hours, with the handle not heating up. Where, I have heard and seen reviews of the TS80 heating up on the housing because it is metal. The other nice advantage is the generic DC barrel connector that can be wired to a bench top power supply. Quite nice and impressed.Cannot be overstated, the custom third party IronOS firmware makes this iron a dream to work with. Also, easy to undo if a problem arises.

This is a very decent iron for professional work. It gets hot enough, but has a very small tip and is easy to use.The one problem was that the first one I ordered did not show up. The seller refunded my money, and by that time Amazon had them in-stock, so I purchased another and it showed up in a couple of days.I have not had the chance to use it a lot, but it has worked perfectly the few times I have needed it.

I wish the USB cord was longer. That's the only sort of negative thing I have to say. Everything else about this was much better than I thought it would be. It's pricey, but it gives you great accuracy, both in tip and temperature control. Heats up was faster than any iron I've used before. Auto-cut off is very good, and if it takes you too long to get back, it gets back up to temperature in no time.

Great tool for something so small. Almost pen size. Builds heat ridiculously fast. Sleep mode, standby, adjustable heat settings. Lipo battery lead for portability . Fast and reliable. Also portable. An rc hobbyists dream. Great price for everything you get. Beats my Blue Point butane iron hands down.Thanx

I purchased the ts80 as a possible replacement to my Weller P2KC butane soldering iron, and I think this has become my new favorite on site soldering iron. I am powering it with a wall adapter, but the precise temperature adjustment makes it better then the butane scolding iron. Can’t wait for more tips to be produced.
