Works perfect, managed to reflow a few chips with this station so far, get some high quality flux to go with this and you'll be set.The arm resting stand it comes with to place the hot air handle while not in use is a nice bonus, as it temporarily stops the hot air when you set it down.

The product first clicked hard when plugged in, like something snapped. Then worked fine for one use, and then the next use caused the internal fan to snap in two, then start to rapidly heat up and almost melt the metal heat funnel. See picture for burnt metal. Horrid value, and LITERALLY dangerous. Stay away

This tool is ok I have used it as a heat gun and soldered with it it works.One review I read before I bought it syated that the tips fall off, Now if this fool would have payed attention they would have known to give the tip a small twist to lock it on.

It's a real shame because this unit works great, but there are a few safety issues with it that should be addressed.The L and N are swapped on the IEC cable included to correct a flaw where the design has the fuse and switch hooked up to the neutral line instead of the hot line. The correct fix is to get rid of the power cable that comes with it and internally swap the L and N wires going to the board by depinning them at the connector and then using a properly wired IEC cable.The body isnt grounded, even though the board and rear banana jack are. Id add a chassis ground via a ring terminal, and change the ground connection as well as power connections to the IEC cable to spade terminals for safety, but the latter is really just a nit pick.I found in use the nozzle tips fall off frequently and that's a deal breaker for me. Otherwise the unit seems to work well.If the tips falling off was fixed, as well as the wiring/safety issues addressed, this seems like it would be a really great unit for the price, but where I've already reworked a different brands 858D to do what i need, this one isn't worth the hassle to modify to make safe and ill be returning it.
