My pen solder gun broke so decided to try a step up and glad I did never realized how much that extra heat can help on old parts and the heat maintains better as well instead of cooling down when you hit a big part that's cold

So there is something rattling in the iron itself, taking it apart I concluded it was a part that's supposed to rattle? Weird but okay.This thing heats up to the 380 range within 20 seconds. Saves plenty of time when all I want to do is a 2 minute job.Would recommend to a friend or colleague.

I have a poor at soldering, so no expert on how this compares.Coming from a cheap plug in 20W iron this is a massive improvement.heats fast, and cools down fast. i like the auto safety (if not used cools to 200c). warms back up in 20 seconds.I like the displayed temp and target temp, you can see it heating and cooling. no idea how accurate it is but even getting the general idea is great, and you can see it working to hold temp well soldering.Works very well on small and medium jobs. I am still working to get a proper join when soldering together 3 larger wires (12 AWG) trying to make a 3 connection harness. Probably my skill and leaning what the right setting are to use.Certainly worth the cost for a hobby tool. I expect a pro would need a true pro setup but this is good.EXCEPT the solder they include is junk. hard to use, hard to flow.

I bought this station for my budding engineer at home with little expectations. It turns out to be just as good as my trusted goot and hakko soldering stations, but at a fraction of their prices. It takes up the most popular types of hakko/goot tips too. It works flawlessly for lead-free (350 C) soldering as well as low-temp (180 C) plastic welding (with a cheap copper knife tip). Can't comment on its longevity and long-term reliability yet but it's been wonderful so far.The reel of solder that comes with the station is garbage though. I would recommend the manufacturer to focus on the good quality of the station itself rather than adding such superficial "values" to the package as cheap bait to attract cheap customers. Inexperienced users would only get frustrated by the poor quality solder and think that the station itself is at fault. It is also an environmental crime to distribute such garbage soldering wire.

cant complain its cheap but is very well build and works really well and is very adjustable in its temp settings plus it heats really fast

Have gotten quite a few soldering kits and this is probably the best bank for your buck I have seen. Nice build quality, and smart design. Parts are modular and can be replaced such as the handle.Manual is clear and well written which is appreciated.The kit is overall simple to use which is going to help a lot with future projects.
