This is a good tool and is a necessary item for your guitar toolbox. It works great. Getting rid of high frets and sharp edges that can impede your guitar playing.

Is this as good as a Stew Mac file? Probably not, but it's half the price and it worked for some significant fret sprout up and down both sides of my strat. I'm not sure what more the Stew Mac gives you except maybe a better ergonomic grip. I had no problem using this.
