I got this rod holder to hold and organize my cat toys. They have several of various sizes that they like to play with at different times depending on mood. Before this, I was piling, untangling, or they were taking up so much floor space when separated out to prevent tangling! Now, they are neatly organized! They clamps are very sturdy with a good amount of pressure. I am confident they could easily hold a heavy duty fishing rod without issue. They hold my thick and thin toy rods, and I can insert lines/cords as well. No flopping or tangles! It was super easy to install, less than half an hour for me. I have low level handiness. If you can hang a picture, you can install this. Highly recommend! I am so happy I bought it! Highly functional!

Compact way to store up to 9 rods. Only takes up about a foot and a half.Note that the holder grabs the rods in the middle so spend a second planning where on the wall you are going to put it to make sure the rods aren't all in the floor or hitting the ceiling.

The product holds rods, but not great when hanging rods with reels. If every rod on the holder had a reel I think you would damage the rods from dropping them on the floor. I wouldn't let my 10 year old hang rods on it or remove them...too risky! Heavy salmon rods with reels will slip down until an eye rested on the friction lock.Light duity but ok for light tackle..
