Soft-sided means a temporary pool to be put up in the spring/summer and taken down in the fall. Earlier this year, I purchased an upgraded 12in. Sand Filter Pump for my pool. The Sand Filter has a drain/discharge outlet. I did not want the pool discharge water coming out on the lawn beside the pool, but rather to a drainage area approximately 75ft away. When I saw this pool backwash hose on the Amazon site, I knew this would meet my needs. But I also realized that I had a problem to resolve.The hose and fittings had an inner diameter of 1.5 inches (a universal standard), yet my pump's drain outlet was 2 inches. However, I got three pieces of PCV-1 adaptors (under $15) to fashion a coupling from my Sand Filter for the 1.5-inch aluminum receiver for the hose.Despite conducting this review in a limited timeframe, my evaluation is based on my experience as an adult male using this product and unbiasedly detailing any positive or negative aspects.This product became available on Amazon Canada in March 2024, and I requested it in mid-May of the same year.WHAT YOU GET:A hose equipped with aluminum Camlock C and E fittings is a specialized hose assembly featuring quick-connect couplings made of durable aluminum. These couplings are designed to facilitate rapid and secure connections and disconnections without needing tools. The main components of this assembly include the following:- Hose: A 100ft x 1.5in heavy-duty hose made of PCV material with three layers of polyester yarn that are folded flat and rolled. All items must be assembled, which is a relatively simple task. If you are confused about how this is done, look at the pictures on the Amazon site.I was very impressed with the quality of this product's parts. They are very well-made and should last many years of use. The camlock does take some effort to close, but that is normal.Everything works very well, and the fact that the hose folds flat again after use makes it easy to roll up for storage. This hose can be used for your pool and lawn. The hose itself is pretty durable and comes with aluminum fittings as well. The long length comes in handy for commercial pools and works well.
