I had to install the door portion on a piece of baseboard painted to match the door. Looks ok, seems pretty sturdy and I certainly use it all he time.

This door lock is solid. For less than 10 dollars you can buy peace of mind, it's an excellent value for the money. My door edge is not flat, but rounded and it still installed without a problem. Fits relatively flush and works as intended. Sturdy and strong. Buy it.

The installation instruction is not clear when to use the plastic pad. The gap will be huge is not to use the pad.

I'm happy with this. The metal feels sturdy and it came with screws of a good length (two options) - not just the bare minimum length. Straightforward installation with instructions. The white colour is bright and doesn't flake off

Unfortunately, I'm being harassed by a delusional neighbour in my apartment building. This swing bar is feels heavy duty, and has some huge screws (and medium and smaller ones too). Needed to buy a 9/64th cobalt bit to drill out holes in my steel door and frame, but once I got the holes in the door, the screws secured in really well. So, until he is evicted, at least I can confirm it isn't that crazy F before I open the door all the way. And nobody is getting it open without a lot of force (but a steel door and frame really helps with that, too). Anyway, excellent value all things considered.

First time installing this. Make sure have a 1/8drill bit ready so the screw can go in easier. We have one door that's flush and no need the plastic spacer and one door is huge off and need 4 pieces of the plastic spacer. Worked out in this case just put all 4 on one door. Make sure Mark the screw location and drill. Quite fine tolerance.

Grew up with these things on our doors for added security and definitely been thinking about buying it now for my own home for some time. Very sturdy, good quality program. Fairly easy to install as well but accuracy is key to ensure proper functionality. Can slam your door open with this thing locking right in place as it should (and it’s loud when you do it so a good added feature)!
