This is not the factory steering stabilizer. This is for the after market Rancho dual shock steering stabilizer system.

Described as being factory replacement. It is not. Believe it is to be used on the Rancho 3-4 inch lift.Had to fabricate a bracket to make it work. Fortunately for me, I have a well stocked scrap bin so it cost me nothing.Solid unit once installed.

I run 35 inch wheels on my truck, and a set of these work great for stabilizing the steering. No more wondering or wobble coming to a stop.

Knowing that these shocks had previously been returned I wasn’t too picky, however one of the shock tubes had a dime sized dent or indentation in it. Still seems to work as it is supposed to. The pair is used for a heavy duty steering stabilizer on my Ford F-350 dually 4x4 truck.

I saw a lot of bad reviews for this stabilizer. Folks trashing the product and folks trashing the sellers. Many of the reviews are not justified and should never have been posted. I received a brand new (not an old painted over one) stabilizer for my 1979 Ford F-250 4WD. It is the right model and has all of the hardware plus a brand new red boot with zip tie included in the unopened Rancho box. Yes, Rancho did paint over the bolt and bushings but It does not affect the functionality of the shock at all. Do yourself, the seller and Rancho a favor and do your homework before purchasing this item. Different vehicles require different shocks and stabilizers. Most of the negative reviews are due to missing this simple step. I am sure that the seller would be happy to answer any questions that you may have to help you out before you purchase it. Attach photos as well to make it easier for the seller to get you the right product. Also make sure you know how to install a shock/stabilizer or know someone who does. One customer posted two photos side by side stating that the shocks were different sizes. One stabilizer was collapsed and the other extended was all which is normal. I am giving this product and the seller a very positive review! I received a great product for a good price and the seller had it on my porch within three days from the time of purchase. Please don't believe the bad one star reviews. Some may be legit but many, I believe, are due to ignorance.

I am sure that it's a fine product for whatever truck it fits, but it does NOT fit a 2006 Ford F250 like Amazon suggested. It's body is 15.25" and extends to 26.75, but my F250 needs 28". So it's probably not fair to blame Rancho because the shocks I put on are AMAZING, but this was a hassle. Lucky for me, my stock stabilizer was fine after installing new shocks.

Installed on a 1979 Ford F-250 Supercab with 33" tires to replace a failed OEM stabilizer. I have two 79's, one with a factory steering stabilizer and the other with this Rancho unit. The factory stabilizer is acceptable with stock tires but anything larger would benefit from an aftermarket stabilizer like Rancho, Trailmaster, Rough Country, etc. (recommended to use dual stabilizers for tires larger than approx. 35"). You will lose slightly more steering response over the factory unit but the reduction in bump-steer outweighed this minor drawback for me. The truck is much easier to keep between the lines now and less jerky off-road.Overall, great product that included ALMOST all of the mounting hardware needed for replacement. Unfortunately, Rancho left out one nut but I was able to reuse the original so no real problem unless yours is seized.
