This works great with my Scott Flex, which doesn’t have a fighting butt. Some of these reviews had me worried it wouldn’t hold my smaller rods well. It does a great job with my three weight all the way up to my 9 weight. Very happy!

Mounted this wonderful item on my kayak in such a way that I can put it straight up and down for launching and landing, as well as down low and away in such a way that it doesn't impede my paddling in any way. Effectively, I can troll with my kayak. Love it!

This is the second one I've owned and still just as good and built sterdy as the first one I bought year's ago I'm just happy Scotty still makes them sence there the only company that sells fly fishing rod holders and if you're a avid fly fisherman and kayak fisherman this is a must have what's nice is it will work with your conventional fishing gear to

Bought a couple of these Scotty Fly Rod Holders for the boat after accidentally breaking my fly rod by sitting on it. It's a Sage fly rod and has a lifetime warranty, but dumb mistakes happen. These Scotty Fly Rod Holders are a quality made product, stay mounted how you set them (deck or rail mount not included), hold the rod securely and are adjustable to hold the rod at any angle. We have several mounts around the boat and can swap the Fly Rod holder out with other Scotty rod holders as needed.
